Is anyone creating new Christmas images? I can't see any point to it - they'll just get lost among the millions of Christmas images the micros have in their collections already. I started on an image and I wondered why I bother. Not being negative, just being practical.

Think out of the box. Yes, there are many Christmas photos, but how can yours be different? I sell some dog christmas photos and made some money off of it.

Christmas, Easter and a lot of other subjects are well and truly over represented I'd go find other stuff to shoot

Not worth the time and money. Too many excellent ones already on the websites.

I would also agree that it is a big waste of time. You could go very specific and local like the briefs always asked by Getty, but you will get hardly the expenses back at micro prices/low volume sales . Now if you have a contract with any macro then I would shoot precisely that kind of shots not available everywhere.

If your goal is to make money then probably no point.  But then you'd be missing out on hours of fun complaining about lack of sales in the forums!  So better get to work.

I have had some luck with Christmas images. Apparently there are buyers out there that prefer simple, below average images. One thing for sure is it wont sell if you dont upload it.

I have to agree with most everyone here, it's kinda pointless. I'm finishing the illustration I started, but I'm not doing any more Christmas images, unless by some miracle I just happen to get some great idea that hasn't already been done to death. But I've done so many Christmas images in past years that I have no desire to do more.
