Overall down 9% from March and 11% up from last April.
(this is in dollars, euros was more favorable this month).

SS, 123rf, Fotolia and Canstock did really well, BME at Canstock and 123rf.
Istock, GLO and DST were very bad.  Istock 60% below BME, DST 20% below April 2011.

(due mostly to the XS price increase, I believe -- I get a LOT of XS sales, though now that mine are FOUR TIMES the price of independent files, I bet the number will decrease even more drastically).

Weren't they just bumped up from 2 to 3 cr? :o I wish they bumped up the price of independent XS DLs to 2 cr and match the P+ prices (why don't they, they should be equal to excl. prices). That would benefit us both. Well unless my sales double because of that, but I really doubt that

It was a good month for me. Only slightly less than last month. Kind of surprised how low SS was though. They are usually pretty constant.

I've concluded it's just me and some images I uploaded within the last six months. Double the earnings of 2011 for another month, on SS. Used to be IS and SS ran 50/50 for me. I don't pay attention to BS or ThinkStock. Now SS is twice IS month after month. No complaints, except that Chipotle fish image, and T-bone on the grill close-up, that both of them refused. Good thing I eat my subjects. (No, NOT like Hannibal Lecter!)

I was happy with April for a number of reasons. First was that (even without the IS PP sales for April) I beat my April 2011 sales by a little (I was exclusive then). It is the first time my indie income has topped the prior year's exclusive (returned to being indie last June).

April was flat with March (which is good) and will inch ahead a bit when the IS partner program sales come in. IS did really well in March and April - compared to the prior dismal months. DT tanked (25% down on March), SS was essentially the same as March (2% down). Veer and PhotoDune had decent months; CanStock and BigStock are so lame that added together they're less than either Veer or PhotoDune. 123rf was OK - downloads up 7% but income down 18%. Pixmac is a dribble (but I only have 400 or so files there as they don't appear to be worth uploading to).

Now if IS would just fix the partner program connector (I still only have 1K files moved over and if I'm stuck with it, I'd rather have all my files there), things there will be cool until the next best match lurch reduces my sales to Pixmac levels :)

April is down about 12% for me compared to March 2012. It was better than 2011 though.

SS was good and DT was decent (about half the sales but much better RPD).

The biggest drop was from Veer that had been quite good the last 2 months w/ multiple ELs but nothing this month.

A month of two halves, the first half being truly awful at iStock. Wk 2 was my second worst month, since my current stats began in Jan '08. Wk 4 was my second best week of the year.
Compared to April '11, $$12% down (totally accounted for by ELs) and dls down 5%.
Worst month of the year so far, which is usual, but not by as large a margin.
Compared to March 2012: $$ down almost 20%; dls down almost 40%.
Scarier still: only 1 XS dl so far today.  :(

Totally the opposite on Alamy, where I had 4 reasonable (non newspaper) sales by 11th April, then nada.

Hi steve, is your earnings in alamy is the sales or the commissions? sometimes it gets exciting to see alamy sales but what the real earnings is only like 60% of it..

A great month April doesnt normally outsell other months of the year, but this month I romped home with total sales of just over $1450 a personal best. The month was helped by three sales on Alamy, for a total of $214,three video downloads on Pond5 for $75 and another great month on Shutterstock of $513. iStock recovered from a poor March to end with $271 compared to $235,and the other sites were OK if not at their best. That makes three sites with a best month ever earning total for April Shutterstock,iStock and Alamy.

The Alamy number was the net amount - I had two images with Alamy commission and one with a distributor thrown in there as well. So the $214 was what ended up in my pocket.

On the micro front, April was up but mostly because March was a down month for me, with Shutterstock as my best earner in March but at only 50% of my average for the several months before that and way down elsewhere too. April earnings at Shutterstock were almost identical to March :(  at about half what I usually earn despite adding some new images for a change. More discouraging, although I saw an uptick elsewhere, SS was still my top earner among the micros. Across the board agencies sales were way below normal, except at Alamy, the one bright spot.

Not my BME at Alamy but a decent month thanks to full-priced licensing. A single sale at Alamy was enough to net me more than twice what all other sites did combined - a nice change as my sales there were for micro prices rather than macro for the first few months of the year, after a very good late 2011. Wish the polls would include Alamy - I think we're aware that we should include just our commissions there, not the full license amount. IMHO it's interesting to compare how a midstock site that is easily open to most microstockers does compared to the high-volume sites such as shutterstock, dreamstime, etc.

Sales of my stock photos made on my own beat out sales from all agencies combined, so ended up a BME for stock sales thanks to that.

april down 20% from march 2012 but march 2012 was 2nd BME and april was 5th BME over 4 years, so nothing to be concerned about

april 2012 up 10% over apr 2011

SS was 3rd BME in april, after march as BME
