Hey guys,

Quick question. I got approached by a conpany who wants to license about 10k of my images for some artificial intelligence project. They want to pay 0.08 $ for each image once. That would we like 800 $ for nothing...mmmm.should I accpet that deal? What do you think?

Thanks!

That's your call if you need the money really bad than yes. But if you don't I feel $.08 per image is too low.

Depends on the terms of the contract. You should really find out what the images are being used for and make sure there isn't any legal verbiage that may be problematic for you later.

For 8 cents I would say no and forget it. But it is up to you. Just remember 10k of images is a huge amount and when they'll have the files you lose control of them.

Why would they purchase the images directly from you and not a stock agency?  An agency would sell at a very low bulk price and this deal might yield this company other benefits.

I think AI training is a kind of indirect usage. I would do it.
More to say, Shutterstock going to get our images for free to train their new project :)

I think you should ask for more details, remember it is your copyright, so you should ask how and where they will be displayed TEN THOUSAND IMAGES. How will they protect them is the question?

if it's for training, they'll never be displayed -- as long as that's explicit and they have no other usage rights it should be an easy decision
