I noted that majority of best ranked photographs upload very few or nothing since the subscription program started at Fotolia. Exemple Yuri Arcurs and Galina Barskaya didn't uplod for one month.
I don't like Fotolia anymore, maybe am I not alone ? ;D

I am attempting to make FT my own personal microstock site.
The more I hear about people not uploading anymore, the closer I am to my goal.

Now I'm hoping those people will soon pull down the images they already have, and close their accounts altogether.
News like this makes my heart soar like an eagle.

I'm no star but I was close to stopping uploading to fotolia before subscription.  I found the upload process vs acceptance rate vs sales was barely worth the effort for me.  The way they handled the introduction of subscriptions tipped the balance and I haven't uploaded since.  I may change my mind and do so again oneday but not at the moment.

I'm not going to create more work for myself and reduce my income in deleting my portfolio though

I love Fotolia.  I beat my previous BME by over 200$ more.  That's a lot of extra money. I was very close to making 1000$ there this month. In March and April I did about 400$ a month so it has more than doubled
It overtook IS and almost caught up with SS. :)

Hee Hee, sorry you've got to share, that's one site that I definitely won't be giving up in a hurry.  Maybe I should edit my post and say what crap it is and encourage everyone to give it up.   :)

I love Fotolia too, month on month I am moving up the rankings (slowly). Maybe with all the stars dropping out we can pick up some of the scraps!

Fotolia is going pretty well now for me as well. But the increasing number of subscription downloads is very alarming. Somehow I can not believe they are new customers.

This illustrates why micros do whatever they do and get away with it.  If photographers pull out for valid reasons there are many still willing to take their place, even under less favorable circumstances.

Yes, it does seem a bit annoying that some are so willing to discourage others from doing something like this.

well, maybe the big names are going elsewhere. they can afford to do that, as they have the big reputation and drawing power.

as for getting little fish to pull out so we can sell more with FL,
maybe that's just what they want you to do. i only see complaints and
whining, but i don't see any names pulling off Fotolia. 8)

I'm too much of a neophyte to honestly dislike any micro outright. If I had to criticize Fotolia it would be for their pathetic excuse of an upload system. My experience has been that agencies that screw photographers always pay. Always. If they have shafted enough people they will end up spiraling down.

I boycotted them for a month but they increased the subscription commissions twice and made them count towards the ranking levels.  I am now starting to upload again.
