Title: Must share my excitement!

Just need to share my excitement with someone.  Just today received my brand new Canon 1D MK III – the first one delivered to South Africa. This would not have been possible if it was not for my earnings from MicroStock. Now for the first time I have a proper camera to put behind my Canon 400 /2.8.  Well I am off now – must find something to shoot …?  ;D

Congrats.  I hope someday to upgrade from my Canon 5d (although I'm not complaining - lol)

    the Mark is still on my wishlist.... I'm still chuggin along with my Rebel.
 I'll be needing a few more magazine spreads before I can be looking at one seriously.....  as Sharply says, give us a review once you're comfortable with it!   8)-tom

What were you using before the Mark III?

Thanks Guys

Just testing the camera this afternoon.  There are quite a number of new features and settings that I will need to experiment with to find the optimal settings for my use.  Initial impressions are that this is an awesome camera.  Firing away at 10 frames/sec feel and sounds amazing. 

I also own a 20D and 30D.  I remember going from the 10D to the 20D the initial impression was that the 20D is so fast (and the 10D so slow).  Now with the 1D MK III it is a similar experience - it is one super fast camera.  Can't wait to test its focus tracking on a bird in flight or animal running.  This is one area that I was not happy with the lesser bodies.
