I was searching for something and hit "can you make money on Microstock" on dpreview, which I read down and down and then this:

My own information, gathered from (bs follows) a top secret process and deep Internet analysis. (read that as designed polls here over the years here as truth) The top 5% of all Microstock providers, artists whatever, come to this forum.

There are two easy conclusions from that. If you expect the numbers on the right, for yourself, you might want to consider that some of the worlds best are here. Second, you are starting up against ten years of experience and quality products.

Why I liked the article? It's true. In anything, there are people on top making millions, people in the middle making a living and many more, trying and leaving or finding out it's just not worth it for them personally.

There's no promise of guarantee. In fact, the market and the returns have changed year to year in the short ten years that Microstock has been a serious market for images. There are new people entering every day, with the same hopes and dreams that pretty much everyone here had, when they joined.
