From an official email from Photocase:

"Debt Cut
For all remaining photographer income that has not been claimed yet we offer 50%. This measure is a prerequisite for the survival of the agency. Yes, everyone loses 50% of their unclaimed earnings, but please keep in mind how much you have earned with Photocase so far and will still be earning. "

That means that if I had 300 earned but not withdrawed yesterday, today the balance appears with 150.

Seriously? They are cutting sales with retroactivity!!!

Is this even legal?

If they are going bankrupt and the liquidator decides that this is a way to keep them alive, then yes, that may be legal.

I have no idea what's going on with Photocase (never was a contributor), but in insolvency cases it is quite common that open liabilities are cut.

Well, that stinks.

RevoStock still makes my stomach turn... Learned my lesson there to never leave more than necessary at any agency.

But there is no liquidator. You can contradict. The photographers should give up voluntarily.
Anyone who contradicts will get 100% of his money!

Ok, I was just guessing.
So then, the choice should be easy - get out with 100% and forget about them.

Love their contributor sign up page.

" Friendly & Fair
Transparency and fairness are important Photocase values. Here you find a fair marketplace where you can put your works up for sale and get a fair share of 20-50 percent of the net sales price. This is the amount we receive after deducting discounts and taxes on image sales."

Don't forget that you also still need to pay [your country] income tax, although they have already deducted all of it for themselves by paying you a share of the net price. Feels like double taxation.

Hello, guys!

I`m also Photocase contributor...This is nothing but robbery. They took our money without asking or offering us deal or something...It`s totally unacceptable way of treating contributors.
