Joined this afternoon...and felt welcomed almost immediately. Very friendly site. It's such a relief to upload without obsessing over goddamn artifacts!

I have only sold 1.  There seems to be lots of photographers and not many buyers.

Ahhh i`m really tempted to join but i guess i`ll wait awhile until they can get a decent watermark.
I`ll give it a few weeks. ;)

I really like redbubble. I ultimitely removed everything though due to the lack of watermark.

First time I've ever looked at it...   I checked out some of the competition in natural landscapes...   seems to be some very heavily enhanced work there. Pretty much like what I'd expect in a gallery setting as artwork.  So heavy, I know it wouldn't be accepted in the likes of SS, IS and others that shoot down so readily for that reason.   I like the look, but I've tried to submit stuff like that and get rejected...  "over filtered" "over enhanced".. etc.    If it werent for this watermark issue, I might consider them with all the 'artsy'  stuff I can't get accepted elsewhere.  8)-tom

Just found this posted on the RedBubble journal (this is only part of the entire entry, but thought this might be of interest):

Well October was a busy month. Heres a few interesting stats from the last month:
- 1,981 sales notifications sent;
- 7,812 items of art ordered;
- 90,000 new works uploaded;
- 5,000 new members; and
- 350,000 comments

I don't like that they display large photos without a proper watermark, so I am not uploading my best selling microsock images to them.

They don't have ANY watermark, do they? Or is it optional? Because I don't see any.

Regards,
Adelaide

Is the lack of a watermark likely to be a problem? As an experiment I 'lifted' an image off it's viewing page and saved it to my disk. I got a 27kb JPEG image file and a thief can't do much with that.

Did you click on "View Larger"?  It is an 800x533 image.  I think that could be useful to some people.

yeah,  I just right clicked a nice sized image out of there.... it could easily be used in webpages...    crisp and sharp...  I don't think I'll be uploading there....   yes, I dumped the image, I only lifted it to check out  what I would be putting at risk....   nice site, I could probably get some decent sales there for my artsy stuff..   but, I ain't giving it away to web builders.      8)=tom

I have sold one thing.

It appears the majority of the buyers the sellers themselves. For instance with T Shirts, anyone with a graphic program can download pics and logos and make their own cheap T Shirts. Once they order it themselves, they delete the file.

I don't see much advertising for Red Bubble.

Thanx for the comments and the RB forum link. It seems that RB ridicules the demand for watermarking. So be it. You have the right not to upload. I won't.
