Post by: angelacat on August 17, 2025, 13:21
Hi

Email from Dreamstime:

If I agree I'd remove the image from all other stock sites - is that right?

It's a video  Dreamstime recommend $1000   :D

If you are able to sell exclusive rights license for the image, please use the "ENABLE LICENSE" button to enable the exclusive rights license and set the price. The buyer will be automatically notified. Only the lifetime Sell the Rights license can be enabled. Keep in mind that this request is for . Please check the table to see prices for .

Sounds like a great deal. Answer them and please let us know what happened.

Good luck!

Nice! Has that happened to anyone else here?

In the future, I'm planning to offer exclusive footage direct to specific buyers. This is encouraging!

higher rates for exclusives is worthless if agencies like DT can't generate sales - 100 $3 sales are better than 1 $50 sale

DT, w Pond is now one of the low performers

I've had requests for exclusive with photos before. Sometimes I enable the license, other times no - depending on how often the image sells and how easy it would have been to disable it everywhere. I have never had an exclusive sale though.

I have had a few requests, but only sold one photo exclusively.
I think I asked for something like $600.
In the end, I made about $400 from it.
Incidentally, it was a photo that rarely sold.

I had this happening before, on a other agency though. The hassel ist that exclusive rights means you have to remove the image from all microstock agencies. And some you can remove easily yourself, but with sites that distribute the images or videos to other sites, it gets more complicated.

I had such a request once.

I enabled the license, and nothing more happened.

I have had many requests to provide exclusive rights and not a single one has ever transpired.

Had several similar requests on Dreamstime. None of them was successful.

Same here, I ignore those requests from DT because they don't amount to anything.

Don't you know that Dreamstime do this all the time? There are no buyers who are willing to pay you 1000$. They are just asking you to stay active and to enable the lifetime rights sold to a few images.

They want us to talk about them. That's all. I've had more than 10 such requests and none of them ended up successfull. Many other contributors share the same experience. There are no clients and that's all.
