Hi, I just came across 4 of my clips in someone else's portfolio (Bridephoto) on Motion Array.  Big portfolio with clips from just about every city in the world.  If the one's from Seattle are my clips... I'm assuming the other cities are other peoples clips.  Have you guys had any experience with portfolios like this.  I've emailed Motion Array, so hopefully they do the right thing and take it down, but what about all those sales?  Is there any compensation that goes to the original artists?  Selling stock footage is hard enough with so many people doing it... thieves like this need to be shut down immediately

Do you mind giving a link to his/her portfolio?

Its very frustrating to see your work stollen and I think MotionArray will take care of it. They usually answer in 1-2 days. I am surprised that he/she even opened such a portfolio on MotionArray....

It's particularly odd that there are videos with model releases, such as the one found here: https://motionarray.com/stock-video/beach-girl-334517/. This suggests that either some content genuinely belongs to the uploader, or, more concerningly, there might be a case of falsified personal information.

That's what I was just thinking... what do these model releases look like??

If you upload to unlimited download sites like StoryBlocks etc, that always happen forever.  It'll always be a cat and mouse game.  You'll have to constantly searching on web to find thieves making money off of your works.  There are also many thieves uploading on YouTube and monetizing them.

I hear ya!  There's probably a lot of accounts like this.  I just stumbled across it as I was uploading to Motion Array

Probably the thief legally downloaded from Artgrid.  If I was a thief, I just subscribe to Artgrid or StoryBlocks for a month and just download thousands of clips for no good reason.  It's so easy and predictable.

The east indian "business model". Steal.

Yes. Took a look - appears he has stolen from a bunch of different artists. Just pick a thumbnail of any video, do a reverse image search and you'll find the different artists. Definitely a thief account.

Motion Array's video preview has no watermark and in 4K.  You can just record desktop video and rip it for free for thieves to upload somewhere else.  It's ridiculous.

if they are willing to simply steal THOUSANDS of clips and pass it off as their own, I'm pretty sure they aren't going to have any qualms about falsifying a "model release" which just requires a "random made up signature", etc.

Basically - any east indian accounts originating from east india/east indian sounding names should be banned, because the majority of the stolen content is from east indians. If that was done, it would solve the stolen content issue. Quite simple. Most east indians "business models" is just to steal.

At the very least, periodically audit east indian accounts for stolen content, then immediately delete them when it is discovered they did, in fact, simply steal from other people.

How did you stumble upon it - was it a "suggested" video?

You have some great videos on YouTube, but thieves steal from youtube videos too.  You have a watermark, but thieves may just use center part as HD clip.

I was uploading a few clips to Motion Array and looking through their library while I waited... then saw my clip being sold by someone else

Have you gotten them to take down the content yet, or what has been motionarrays response?

If you have reported them to Envato and the portfolio is still up because Envato did nothing then maybe its better to post that on the forum there. I am sure it will get all the needed attention from the community and from Envato at the end too.

I wasn't aware there was a forum on Envato, I'll check it out.  I did report it to them and they wanted me to sign something before they looked into it.  I replied with links to the stolen clips and links to the same clips in my Pond5 portfolio uploaded years ago

Just found the forum and started a new topic explaining the situation.  Thanks
