Hey Guys, first time post. Long time lurker.

Have any of you had success with selling stock footage on Motion Array? https://motionarray.com/browse/stock-video [nofollow]

I've done a little research and found a couple of guys I know that earn over $2000 per month there. I'm not sure about the membership aspect of it, but I guess if your footage has enough downloads you will earn more money than if you sell it a couple of time other traditional sites.

Maybe I'll upload some of my files, and see how it goes.

Any of you upload there? Thoughts?

Thanks,
M

Hi Mografia,

My name is Eri and I am one of the founders of Motion Array. We are an Unlimited download site. If you are looking to get an expensive price per download we are probably not the best choice, but if you want to make more money, then I would seriously consider us.

Our membership count is growing and the price per download really depends on the amount of revenue generated on the site. We have a controlled amount of producers to make sure earnings remain high as we share 50% of the revenue. You need to ask yourself the question....is it better to earn 90 dollars on 3 downloads... or in the same time period earn 200 dollars on 90 downloads. I would take more money any day of the week.

We focus on earnings, not price per download. Hope that helps.

Eri

What?
You mean every time someone downloads a clip the artists take fluctuates with how well the site is generating income?

What kind of research? How did you establish $2000 / month, I didn't see that somebody on this forum said that? Or you are just promoting the site in the sneaky way.

btw, I was interested in this site, but not so much anymore because not just that they have low prices, they want only premium quality as well. They want to have the best collection which will also be the cheapest. Very inventive... That's total devaluation.

Plus their earnings are not consistent as they are on other sites - as soon as you stop uploading there is a huge drop-off quickly, so basically you need to work for them like a hamster in the wheel (which is unacceptable, stock income should be passive income).

Plus their upload process is ridiculous - ftping 1 video (without zip) and reading metadata from it should be a must instead of expecting the special treatment from contributors.

And now you can't even see which video got sold or how many sales each video has, and that used to be available.

Another site driving prices into the ground. This is why I never bothered to upload to them.

I'm open to establishing the optimal price - the price which will give us the highest earnings. This is why microstock > macrostock. But when agency does that, it at least should have the same criteria for accepting videos as everybody else. Having the lower prices and accepting only premium quality, that's really crossing the line. Everything what sells on other sites should sell even more on MA if they are really as high earner as they claim to be, so that work should be accepted, not rejected or advised to join multiple submitted videos into one (I mean seriously? that can be really annoying). Plus everything else I've said in my previous post.

Do not sell footage on Motion Array unless you want to do damage to the industry and ultimately yourself. Bottom scraping sites like this should be avoided at all costs.

There wasn't anything like that before, maybe that's something new, unless you maybe registered as a buyer instead as a contributor.

Stockman11: I am not sure where he is getting the $2000. We do not disclose earnings to other sellers. Your statement would make sense if we were trying to add more sellers quickly. We are not. In fact getting into Motion Array is not easy.

Noodle: This is correct. We disclose the total earning of the site under "My Account". 50% is disbursed. Please do not join Motion Array, but calling us a "rats nest" is not cool. There are a lot of authors making a living and taking care of their families with Motion Array.

Mantis & pkphotos: I get it. We understand we may not be a good fit for you. But for the record, we do not approve every author... more importantly, if you are worried about sites with unlimited downloads, I would do a quick Google search. We are not inventing anything here. We are small, there are far bigger unlimited marketplaces readily available. Not trying to convince you to do anything.

Open_: Looks like you are trying to upload videos to our Review and Portfolio service. This is not how you become an author. These are services to members. Our paid members can make a video Portfolio Website and setup Review projects for their end-clients. You have to be a paid member for these services but not to be a seller. Being a seller is free, of course.

You do want more contributors of course, they "just" need to have the premium content. So my statement does have the perfect sense, and you are still under suspicion that you or your team wanted to promote your agency in dishonest way. Your spinning didn't convince anybody into anything...

@stockman11

I have a couple friends I've made in the stock community that upload there. That's where I got the info.

I think they have the largest portfolios on Motion Array.

In what stock community, Motion Array's? How do you go there and how do you make friends there who would share with you their earnings if you are new? And who just happen to be the contributors with largest pfs.

And if you really have friends there, why don't you ask them all you need to know instead of posting on this forum and sharing with us their earnings?

It's also interesting that you and Motion Array / Eri are active in the same part of the day.

We were all born yesterday and just fell off the turnip truck.

One player has an account, never posts, then the new person with all the connections to people who make big money, sets out the bait. The mouse comes and feeds us some more stinky cheese. Time of day doesn't matter, they only write to each other, on this topic and are feeding their pitch to the forum.

I'm not interested in buying it without some facts about how much people actually get paid, not that it changes based on other downloads?

"Each producer receives a percentage of the money depending on their productss (sic) download percentage. Its that simple." Then they show an example where someone gets 5% of the total downloads :o  and makes $2,500! Does anyone really do that? ::)

Mark me highly suspicious and skeptical.

Thread backfired ;D

I don't have anything against the honest, straight-forward promotion, but these pathetic luring attempts are really something else. So it's always good when they fail hard.

So your supposed friends even gave you screenshots of their earnings? And this is supposed to convince us into anything?

If anything, it only further confirms that this is just a lame act and that you are a gimmick account. With each of your replies (both of your accounts) your case only looks worse.

Congratulations for exposing yourself, I guess. Time for opening a new account(s).

Ok Stockman,

I came here to ask a question.... and it looks like I have my answer.

No one here sells on Motion Array.

I'll give it a go, and let you all know how it goes.

The real question has been previously done:
for which reason you came here to ask when you  have friends (very near friends, if they send you their earnings) that can give you detailed answer on how, when, with which content, they do so well???
No reasons at all. Can't imagine wich kind of answers do you expect
