Just wondering if anyone experiences a slow down in sales during April due to Spring Break and Easter? Or if April is a slow month for them in General?

Spring break will only have little effect as its an American school break, not a global thing either. Easter , yes.

I have been doing stock photography for awhile now and this time last year I was still new with little sales. My sales these last few days have been like my December sales at Christmas till the new year. Then It picked back up so I am just wondering if there are certain times of the year that sales slow down like that and of course I am hoping that Easter is one of those!

I am now making my entire living from stock photography so a slow down is freaking me out.

That explains a complete drop in sales from Europe and slow elsewhere.  Hopefully it will pick up by the end of the week.

A number of holidays in Europe this week, definitely.

And next weeks too:

May, 1st: Labour Day in most European countries - and many other countries worldwide as well;

May, 5th: Early May Bank Holiday in UK;

plus, Liberation Day: April, 25th in Italy and Portugal (though unrelated); May, 8th in Czech Republic.

Then, holidays should be over for a while.

Then, holidays should be over for a while.

Thanks for that list.  It will be good to know if/when there are slowdowns on those days. :-)

Even though it was  EU bank holiday I had more sales from the EU then from US.

Edit: Could the person that voted me down let me know why he thinks this not true? Thanks.

May 19 Victoria Day (Canada)

And any weekend where anyone decides it is a Holiday.

If it is Friday it must be a Holiday

Monday was my third consecutive day without a sale on IS.

Except for my first few months back in '08, that had never happened to me before.

Oddly, the week before last was slow for me at iStock, while last week was slow at Shutterstock. Both seem back to normal as of yesterday.

May 22 is Ascension Day.

And both May 1st and May 22nd are Thursdays, so many people in Europe will take Friday off to have a long weekend twice in May this year.
