Are you seeing any downloads on StockXpert today?

I'm wondering if a switch was thrown somewhere at StockXpert and buyers aren't seeing the site today?  This is the first day in many months that I woke up to ZERO downloads.  (My average lately has been 10 or 20 by 7 am EST.)   Now it's nearly 10 am and it's still showing 0.  I checked to make sure my pics are still in the site, and they are.

And the past few weeks, I thought StockXpert was on the rebound, approaching the BDEs and BWEs I was experiencing up until last November.  Strange that everything seemed to vanish overnight.

Yes, I've had 3 today so far, fairly average I suppose of late.

You are doing surprisingly well there though. My sales there are now running at one third of what they were in October although I've not bothered to upload to them since the beginning of November.

I have loads of sales today, people don't like your stuff any more.

Just kidding, no sales for me either, but that's not unusuale.

Couldn't it be that we are no longer getting JUI sub sales? I usually get 10+ every weekday, but today and yesterday I haven't had one. Only StockXpert subs and StockXpert PPD's

I think you've hit the nail on the head.  Looking into my daily breakdown, I see they're gone.

JUI sub stales must have stopped Jan 31 or Feb 1... here's my last several days of stats...

Jan 28 = 29 JUI sub sales
Jan 29 = 20
Jan 30 = 16
Jan 31 = 0
Feb 1 = 0
Feb 2 = 0

I opted out of subs but even taking that in to consideration, my sales were bad in January.  I don't think I will ever see a BME with StockXpert again, unless they are sold.  The new owners seem content to just let the site tick over, they haven't said anything about marketing it and seem more concerned with re-directing buyers to istock.  Sales have gone up on some of the other sites so perhaps the buyers are moving elsewhere?

Sales through January slightly down but fair. Today is my first no download day in quite a while.

Cool! I was hoping that I'd be able to collect whatever credits I had. This is unlike "some other places" where I'd like to close the account, but have to reach $100 or get nothing!  >:(

Everything (OF MINE is opted in for partner program...) there is up for subs now, any 30 cent downloads, will get transferred to iStock.

I suppose I shouldn't just think of myself. Just wondering what it means to that small group who may not be IS members? Time to join the party?  ;D

I guess it's not all doom and gloom.  A buyer is not simply going to stop buying photos because StockXpert is gone.  He/she will find another source, most likely ISP since the StockXpert site will route there.  So the challenge for me and many others is to get all the photos I had on StockXpert onto ISP as quickly as possible (I actually started last Sept anticipating this day would come), but with the upload limits and very picky reviewers, that's no small feat.

I don't think that's true... I just got a $1.50 commission on a PPD download a few minutes ago.  I wonder if they'll continue right up until the 11th, so I should wait to do the transfer until then.  But what if the site is taken down before we can make a last-minute transfer?

But will buyers go to IS?

But will buyers go to IS?

I believe many will, by default... following links or redirects from StockXpert.  Sure, some will decide they don't like ISP for whatever reason and look elsewhere.  But while many of us have biases for or against ISP as contributors, we can't assume buyers have the same misgivings.  I'm also a buyer and do most of my purchases at ISP.  Frankly, I know how tough it is to get stuff in as a contributor, and it gives me a sense that the overall quality is better than the other sites and I'll have to wade through less junk to quickly find a high quality image that meets my needs.

racephoto, the credits I think they are talking about transferring are credits that buyers have already purchased. Contributors can request a payout or transfer their earnings to their IS account.

Here is what Seb said on the StockXpert forum:

As for your earnings you can either transfer then to your iStock account by logging back into your account and then follow the guidelines to do so.

If you don't want to transfer to iStock or do not have an account there, email customer support and ask for a complete payout. I suggest you only do so after Feb 10 in case you get more sales until then.

Same discussion already up to two pages... here, headed for three I predict.

Yes, it says credits and it also says payments in another place.

This is either the worst case of incompetence I've seen in a looooooong time..  or... it is purposefully being done.   which is it?   neither is a good senario... 8)=tom

Hi All

StockXpert I believe is being absorbed by Istock and Thinkstock both. That could be why there are no sales there this week as they move the collection over, just a guestimate ( fancy word for guess ). That could be good for non exclusives at Istock because we probably already have all the same images at both locations just not as many at Istock due to the upload limitations for non exclusives. Now, if they moved all my work from StockXpert to Istock I would be pretty darn happy. I would immediatly get 2000 more images added to Istock, I don't think they will go that route as it is to early to tell, but it would be cool. The things I want in the stock business don't usually come true :D

Best,
Jonathan

Jonathan I really doubt that they would merge everything over there because of their high standards of quality. I'd love it if they did because that would increase my port at iStock also..but I really doubt they would do it that way

Hi Donding,

Yes, I doubt it to. But it would be nice wouldn't it :)

Best,
Jonathan
