I just heard someone said long ago that they got 1-2 downloads for video each day so they get about 2000$ per month.
While another one said that he got 10-20 downloads per day and mostly in Shutterstock.

So I would like to hear from you guys that is it possible to have over 10 downloads per day in stock video industry? and what is the highest download per day (or per month) that ever exists? Is stock business got enough potential to create this amount of income?

Thank you for sharing  :)

When Pond5 used to show sales figures on item pages, I remember checking out the number one selling video clip and it was about 1000 sales over a period of three years. So that would make it roughly one download a day. Sales were probably higher earlier on though, so two a day would probably be more likely. I'm not sure what the sales are like on Shutterstock/iStock/Fotolia compared to Pond 5, but I'd be surprised if they are ten times more.

So although 10 to 20 a day is probably feasible, I think you could probably count on one hand the amount of clips that have achieved that, and I'm not sure how sustainable that would be.

0.5 sales a day over a ten month period is my best result.

The top video clips at Pond5 sell around 10 times per month. Not many do that.

It all comes down to the size and commercial usability of your entire portfolio. Some people make $10k and up per month, with a lot of good quality/unique material. Helicopter aerials of most major cities in the world is one of those things.

With music, you can sell the same track thousands of times, because it can fit more projects. Video is more particular, and no single clip will ever sell that many times. You need a bigger portfolio and higher prices to make as much money.

Back in the good days of iStock I would regularly get 20+ download in a day, even some 40+ days. Now days it's way less. But I'm sure there's still a few people with some pretty high download numbers. Especially if they're on multiple sites.

Ah right, I thought you were on about number of downloads per video, per day... not total number of downloads per day, over an entire portfolio. Sorry!

34 sales in one day was my best result ever. That was only last month. On average, I probably have about 10 to 15 sales a day across my entire portfolio and all sites.
