Title: Yay -- At least one site with class
Post by: louoates on February 28, 2011, 11:11
With all the negative comments about dealing with micro sites lately it was heartening to receive this email from Jan at Yay. It was in response to my email canceling my account there due to disappointing nearly non-existing sales from my portfolio. I also requested I be paid for the accrued commissions dating from the site's beginning. Within days my account was closed and my commission amount was in my PayPal account. Thought I'd pass along this happy feedback to start the week.

Hi Lou,

I'm sorry to hear that you want to delete your account. Before I can delete your account, however, I need a confirmation from you. That is just for security reasons. Please just answer this email.

Usually we don't do payouts lower that €30, but since you've been a positive contributor to us since the very beginning - I'll personally make sure you receive your earnings.

Have a nice day!

Best regards,
Jan

It's a shame that sales do not match the integrity and dignity of the site and its crew, I also deleted my account with them a while back for lack of sales...

I didn't know Yay and few days ago started uploading images to Yay and... can't upload :D Wrote e-mail and even got answer-'technical problems on page, please try again' ;) But after reading your posts about them, I decided not losing my time with them.
There are to many people who can't be wrong saying, there are no DLs on Yay and there is no sense uploading...

I haven't had that many sales on the Yay site itself but their "third party" (re-seller) programme produces a chunk of royalties once a quarter. One payout so far and in line for another when the 4th quarter (for 2010) sales are posted in the next few weeks. It's one of the quickest and easiest sites to upload to and the batch editing feature is fast and easy. The little time I spend getting images on the site makes it worthwhile for me and, with time, I hope the direct sales build as well. And, yes, they are nice people to deal with. Regards, David.

Yes it is, I wish they could be as courteous to the ones that are staying with them. They mostly don't answer my emails.

For vectors, I've found that ClipartOf.com is giving me good sales AND they've always provided the best service out of any of the 20 vector sites I submit to.
