What's your opinion on current gradient trends? Yes or no?

What are the current gradient trends? Is there a gradient monthly magazine I can subscribe to, so I can keep up to date?  ;D

If it helps the image, do it.  If it doesn't then don't do it.  I just did a gradient background in Photoshop for a shot that I think adds value to the mood of the image.  But I don't do them often.  Think of the user and the ways in which the image can be used.  If you can envision multiple ways in which the image might be used without a gradient, then don't do it.

It depend on the type of market you are in.
Web design is going towards flat colors now, while if you are working for graphic design then you may require color tones which seems to attract.
There is no rule like to gradient or not to gradient, all you need to make your artwork attractive.
Simplicity is always considered best. :)
