Where else (except microstock) do you sell your illustrations?

Do you now about some place, where I can sell more complex illustrations (I dont wnat to sell illustrations, thats took me several hours/days on microstock for few cents).

Do you know about some good site, where I can earn some money by printing my illustrations on Tshirts, mugs etc...?

Thanks for any tip.

Some sites that sell products with your images on them:
Zazzle.com
Cafepress.com
Redbubble.com
Imagekind.com
image-source.co.uk

Illustration sites:
Imagezoo.com
Alamy.com
stockillustrationsource.com

These are some bookmarks I have. I can't tell you about sales potential, but these are some sites I've been looking into.

I can't really say. I sell my fine art pieces in an art gallery close to home... And you can post them for sale at deviantart.com (but I've never had anything sold there)...

Hi Dennis,
May I ask how many images you have in your portfolio there? What kinds of images are they?

I have 2000+ cartoons but the earning started from the first 50 uploads and has continued as they have been uploaded.
I expect within a few months to be earning easy over$1000US a month with what I have already. (but will be creating 1000s more). -  $494.5 in less than 3 months if all this makes sense  (averaging $12.06 per sale.)
I have not made collections yet, but I'm told some sell very well.

Take a look <img src="http://www.clipartof.com/images/clipartof_logo.png" border="0" alt="ClipArtOf.com">

Hope this helps.

What style do you do?

Thanks for the info. I have a much much smaller portfolio. Currently I am an exclusive at istock, but I've heard about this site from a couple of other illustrators off-forum and so I am curious.  ;)

Great even for small amounts, 50% dose not much better.

The site is growing rapidly and ranking is going up fast for a young site.

Yes... But, their buyers don't like illustrations listed on micros - so be careful what you upload or you are history ;-)

Sorry I don't think that is 100% right. Well not in my case.
I have art in micro sites and the have no problem. As I said above I am with zazzle and iclipart and they are aware.

I'm not clear on what you mean, But I'll give you a qoue if that helps  -

"Having your images on other sites like shutterstock and istock may be a good thing for you. They have such a HUGE customer base and have been around for awhile  They advertise a lot and have customers that dont even search the web, but instead go straight to those sites. Its better to give yourself a chance at making sales anywhere you can, than to miss that chance completely"

... I think buyers will be upset...

Why? And even if they are, why should we care? I don't care that some of my stuff sells for a dollar at some sites and then sells for over $10 at istock. Why should we all of a sudden be concerned that the same images for different prices just because we're talking about midstock, when microstock prices are all over the map?

I whole-heartedly agree.

If buyers want to get a great deal, then they need to do their due diligence.  If they don't do the research, then they have no right to complain later on when they find the same (or similar) image for less somewhere else.

This is the same thing that happens in every other market around the world.  Pick any product and I can find a very expensive price and a much lower price.

iclipart?
I make more from the affiliatre program than images.
If you have a lot of art that would suit education then you'd do ok.
Helpful people. Will load your files from zips and do all the taging and keywords.

well, I happen to have some moral barrier to sell the same image somewhere for $10 and on other place for $100... It is how I am formed... It may be in connection to that I have quite long working expirience in trading and some other fields... Somehow I am affraid that selling by different prices is not good for reputaion of author on long term time...

I really plan to do this for at least several years more... And giving some clear and fair threatmant to all buyers I think can be winning policy... But, who knows - maybe they don't care from whom they are buying images and by which prices... If I am buyer I'd care very much about that details...

I once thought the same thing. But i was wrong.

I think you are missing the point, different clients go to different sites.

They have a variety of budgets.

You could try Clipartof.com
Go to http://www.clipartof.com/info/contributor_agreement.html

Thanks for the tip, I had not heard of this site.
Regarding the discussion of selling at this site and on microsites also, I noticed this part of the contributor-agreement page:
"ClipArtOf.com is non exclusive. Contributors are able to sell the same images on other sites, including micro stock sites, however it is recommended that a pseudonym (ficticious name) is used if the images are sold on micro sites to avoid harassment of disagreeing visitors that are strongly against micro."

Yep, I noticed that too. Sounds like an amazing place for illustrations. 50/50 is great, also being able to set the price is huge.

Checking the site's ranking on the web and I am surprised to find that it ranks higher than veer and vectorstock. This place looks like it can easily make much more than BigStock, 123rf, vectorstock and veer. It can be right behind SS, IS and StockXpert for illustrators. We will see.

YEP it's a pro-artist site.

I personally think it best to put different styles on each site, if you are capable.
