Hey I found a bunch of microstock images at http://photo.egnarosoft.com/ .
Are they a partner of FT or anyone? I can't seem to find that.
They give credit to the original photographer but I've never heard of them before.
Anyone know anything?

Geez, amateur coding. They used the CSI content management system but left the backend admin interface exposed to the world...

I recognize a few photos, like this one:
http://photo.egnarosoft.com/main/image_detail.php?imageid=4098494
I think it was on the revolving slideshow on BigStock. I'll do a little research. Says its owned by Carlos Caetano.

Not very professional. This on the home page:

Please here to start search your photo

What? I'm guessing it's not a U.S. company.

ETA: Searched for that van and surfboard on BigStock, and it is also there, also uploaded by ccaetano. I didn't see any way to sitemail him from either orangesoft or BigStock.

Thanks for posting, Klauts!

It seems it's a 123RF partner site.

Found my images there. Hope this isn't a theft site.

I submitted a contact to 123. Even if they are partners, "By: - Not specified -" on my photos troubles me. It was one of reasons for closing my CanStockPhoto account, 123 may become next.

Looks like these days sites are doing their best to push contributors to exclusivity with somebody else :(

Seems you are correct. Do a search and watch the bar on the bottom saying transferring data from us.123rf.com    ???

Same file numbers as 123 files if you check one of yours.

For me, I don't think that's the answer, but I am beginning to believe it's best to opt out of partner sites. There just isn't enough accountability on some sites. While I don't believe contributors are necessarily getting ripped off, some sites don't separate out or even tell you who their partner sites are. For instance, DT started partnering with Pixmac. All well and good. AFAIK, the sales that came from Pixmac was never separated out anywhere on the financial stat pages of DT so we could actually see if we were getting any sales and if it was worth it to be opted in. StockXpert did separate the sales when they partnered with Jupiter and photos.com...that was good. IS is separating them so a contributor can see. If I am wrong about DT and Pixmac, please correct me.

It just seems like we keep finding our images on sites, and we have to wonder if they are stolen or are a partner site. We shouldn't have to guess.

I'm starting to think that too, we never know where our images will popup, and how unsafe this may be.

Do all sites allow us to opt out?

I wonder about the chain of accountablity with these "partners".  Of course, we have no way of knowing if even the big 6 sites are honestly reporting sales.  But monkey business seems even more likely with a growing network of unnamed 'partners' located around the world.

I'd re-word this question to "Does any?" (at this moment I am aware only about IS)

BigStock does.
More on the topic: I know a high volume image producer that used to do micro-auditing himself by buying one of his own less popular images now and then at "suspicious" sites. I forgot what came out but I remember it was interesting to see how long it took before the sale was booked. Anybody in doubt can try that. It only costs the commission. Why not generalize this kind of micro-auditing and report the results in a dedicated thread? As for now, contributors just have to trust...
You will have to make a separate buyer's account though, with the name of your "room mate".

BigStock does.
Could you please point to where? I cannot find anything.
And  (partially) returning to the tropic - cannot find this on 123  neither.

It would be nice if they all listed their partner sites under the reseller sales sites so you know up front who sells where.

It would be nice. From the perspective of knowing who is selling what legally, too. I opted out of BigStock and DT. Until they start listing the earnings made from partner sites, I will opt out. May be losing sales, but I think I should be able to see whether it's beneficial for me to be opted in.

I remember a big discussion in BigStock (or maybe here about BigStock) because they had a partner whose resale price was much higher than BigStock's and, if I remember it right, we would receive the same as if the image was sold in BigStock (but I may be mistaken).

I know many big sites resell in other sites, Alamy for instance has a lot of other agencies' collections.  I know some people say "any sale is a sale", but selling your image through a partner of a partner of a partner may mean in the end you get 5% of the sale.   :-\

The name was CrystalGraphics and you were very pissed off by it.

"BigStock gets 25% of the $69 then we give you 44% of that which is 11% of the $69."

I had many tens of sales from that site but never more than 1 or 2$ on BigStock. They must have made a small fortune by it. I had to let it go since I received ominous signs from high places.  ;D
