I am getting more interested in vectors now. I have been doing rasters in Xara Xtreem and love that program and very few vector conversions to eps10 for SS. I am now interested in trying to get some into Istock.

For you first samples, I am wondering if they need to be full out scenes or can they be objects. Backgrounds? I am thinking of a Thanksgiving Cartoon Turkey Scene so far. I also want to try a realistic Guitar as a solo object.

If anyone has any hints, tips or trick for getting the initial samples approved, I would appreciate it.

P.S. I know they only allow EPS8...which is going to cause me to study more stuff....lol.
Some sites say they give you a crown but in reality, it is just a polished toilet seat.

They likely will not like backgrounds on the application. On the first for me I sent a tropical fish with some stylized seaweed, a very fancy ear of corn, and a toucan in a stylized tree.

Be precise - no sloppy curves, no opens, no stray points. They are also not fond of "overuse of gradients"

Good luck!

I don't envy you, trying to get into istock with my illustrations made me age at least 5 years! and if I remember correctly it took 4 attempts. :(

Background are definitively a big no no for the application, check out the "highest rated" section in the most popular list. I echo the thoughts of Stormchaser regarding the open points, gradients etc...

For the initial sublimations they like something a bit different.

Good luck, and expect rejection the first time then if you get through you will be pleasantly surprised  ;)

Thanks for the advice. Gonna take my time on these. This will kind of be a goal to improve myself with.
