Hey guys,

on which other forums are you concerning pro photography?
I mean where professional things are discussed, like here, but not only for stock?
(sorry...this is of course the best forum :D but i'd like to know more about the general photography forum sites).
I'd like to chose one good one instead of following up on 20. And in a way I'd like it to be professional, not too many amateur questions.

Are you a professional or an amateur?   Honestly, I think you will find that some hobbyist/"amateur" photographers will have just as much knowledge as professionals.  That has always been the case with photography.

The forums at Dpreview.com were a very valuable resource to me as I was learning. They have forums for pros and for amateurs.  Many advanced amateur's in the Canon DSLR forums know as much or more about good photography as the pros.  I assume the same is true for the other advanced camera forums.

Graffoto

I don't know where you might find information strictly about shooting for stock.
But for a very good general resource I like www.fredmiranda.com

I always liked www.dpchallenge.com  they also have fun weekly challenges which are great for touching up on your skills.

I'll second fredmiranda and I'll add www.luminous-landscape.com  :)

Maybe so, but the term "amateur" includes such a variety of individuals that I sometimes just get bored when browsing trough Canon-Nikon debates or crappy snapshots (and the compliments following the crappy snapshots)

And there is one thing where amateurs are much worse than the pros: that is MAKING MONEY of photography.

I sometimes read some stuff at fredmiranda too.

I am a professional. Not for long, hence the wish to exchange a bit.
I would mainly like to exchange on the business aspect and stuff like studio lighting or so.... mostly amateurs don't have sofboxes and the like, even if they are often very good (no doubt).
yeah, and crappy snapshots with compliments afterwards...hahahah. i wouldn't want that either.

DWF(Digital Wedding Forum). The best, not only for wedding photographers.

travelstock

What's wrong with this forum??

MicrostockExp

I read dpreview quite a lot for forums related to  gear...

There is pro4um.com, I used to have a subscription (for free, it's expensive from what I remember) but there are some good things on there especially for wedding photographers, portraits, etc..

Red Dove

British Journal Of Photography - not a forum but I like it for the pro approach to gear and industry news.

That's probably the best forum on the internet. It's ran by Kirk Voclain and it's $250 a year. If you're interested in learning a lot about the pro side of the photography industry away from microstock this is definitely the place to go.
