Nature Lightbox - Microstockgroup on Istock

I imagine a lot of people know the benefits of creating lightboxes of your images and putting links to the lightbox in the description (at istock).  This can bring attention to your images when people are just browsing or find an image they like. - Like hidesy has done on this image

I figured we could do the same for the group here - except have a linked lightbox with multiple peoples images.  That way we are interlinking our images and hopefully creating more views and purchases for ourselves.  Working together and networking our images.

As a strategy, you might want to add some images that get a lot of views, so that the lightbox gets some attention as well as an image or two that needs a little help getting more views.

I have since started a 'trial run' with a nature lightbox.  It works like this....

Anyone who wants can offer up to 5 images to be added to the 'microstockgroup nature lightbox'
To add your images you must do the following

  • put THIS text in the description of the image you want in the lightbox (this provides a link from your image to the lightbox
  • Go to this page and add them to the correct collection
  • images will NOT be added to the lightbox if they do not have the 'lightbox banner' in the description
  • images must be about 'nature' or have nature as the general theme

The lightbox can be viewed here



If this goes well I think it would be nice to have a new lightbox everything month.

ps. if someone doesn't like the banner i made and has a better idea for it, feel free to post it.

just a remark. What hidesy did was totally different.  She made a lightbox from her images only.  That's what I'm doing too.  But I like the idea to have a lightbox of several images AND include the banner in all images that's new and would certainly increase the traffic to the lightbox.

I realize that hidesy has just her images in that lightbox.  I have made a few of those as well -with only my images.  what i was getting at though was link a lightbox together by banner links on all the images - like hidesy and other have done with their own images.

hmm not sure i explained myself any better... but nonetheless.  I gathered that you understand what i was trying to do, and i think i understand what you meant.. so perhaps that is enough :)

Oh what we can do also, is to put this lightbox links in the description of our other nature images too, so we will increase the views and hopefully the downloads on our best nature images... ok maxybe that would be too much work..
