Congratulations! Nice image and collection.

Did I do the math right, do your DL's from this one image comprise almost a tenth of your DL's on IS?

I'm wondering if that's somewhat typical, or if there is any such thing as typical. :)

Yep, although that's changing rapidly. I have a couple of images that are beginning to sell faster.

I think runaway success stories like this are not that uncommon - freezingpics and his famous penguin image comes immediately to mind.

Way to go..... :)  I'm still waiting on my first one... I have over 30 yellows...but nothing red yet :-\

Congrats to you!

Is this a combination of two pics, just out of curiosity? or were you lucky enough to get this fabulous shot in one shot.

Its a great shot no matter what.

Congrats sharply.  Its plane to see why that one is a winner :)

Pixart

Well done, and in only 5 months.  Won't it be exciting when it gets one of those icy blue flames!

Sharply, I see your work and I wonder where you can possibly position yourself to get such great images.  Do you have special access or do you live in a fabulous penthouse suite looking over the ocean and shoot from the balcony?

Most of my images are compilations. This is the only way to efficiently produce a quantity of quality imagery. Why most people stop at 'isolated on white' images is beyond me - why not use your own isolations?

Why does the fact that the shot is 'manufactured' devalue it in your mind?

Nope, I live in a van down by the river. The damned things are always flying right over me. (grin)

PenelopeB

I meant that whether it is a compilation or not - it's fabulous - no devalued implied at all!   :)

(actually, I am envious that you have the time to produce such great material - I'm a fully employed graphic designer, Mom, wife, maid, and summer cottager so I can only utilize stolen moment to do my photography until my Son goes off to college)
