So many avatars, so little time to look at them all!  Just an off topic point of curiosity if you have a minute or two.

Avatars!
I find them interesting and I wonder ..... how'd you come to use the one you do?  Does it tell us something about you?  Does it relate to your craft, photography/graphic art?  Is it just a picture you liked?  Are the photo avatars really you?      Or is it ....  "yeah this'll work better than the generic" some random thing you uploaded ?

Also... do you use the same one on all sites or do you change up?

Some are pretty obvious, like Hatman's... others,  make ya wonder..... like, what's that all about?
Any one else have an interest in this?  If so, why is yours what it is?

What sparked me to ask was Leaf.  He just recently changed his to the cow!    Curious!           Got a minute, fill us in on yours!     8)-tom

Peace  - tom

K for Kngkyle. It's an illustration like all of submissions so far. Same with the signature.

Picture of me. I taked this while I haved no ideas on what pictures to take. After I imported the batch of files I was having on my memory card in my computer. I see the thumbs and say "hey, it's not good for stock but it's representing me well" (curiosity, dark personality,no big emotion).

And this is almost the only pictures of me at adult age. Generally I don't like really much the forums, chatting and the telephone. Because we can't see who is talking and what exactly what they say by their non-verbal language. It's a bit because that I putted my face there.

It's me (DB) on my Virago

An odd duck slightly off center...that's me in a heartbeat!  :-D  Rubber duckies also make me smile.

Bateleur

A Bateleur is a sort of tail-less African eagle, magnificent flyers. They travel hundreds of kilometres every day with barely a wing-beat, riding effortlessly on the African thermals.

I did a study on them whilst living in Africa and they are my all-time favourite bird.

I miss them in the skies, now I live in Europe.

What about yours, A.K.A.-Tom?

A picture taken when diving, it is a seal I felt pulling at my fin and one of my best diving pictures

Peter

Chode - character from "Tripping the rift" cartoon. Really funny guy.

Mine is part of my old website logo.  It's called a pixel doll and I made it to try to represent me... somewhat.  I added a camera around her neck and she's holding an artist's paint pallete in one hand and a computer mouse in the other. It represents me and my favorite hobbies, photography and art (both traditional and computer graphics).   ;D  I have a couple of versions that I use on different websites.  I also ride a motorcycle so I have one with her in front of my bike.  It's a bit too big for an avatar but I'll use it in my signature on biker forums.

Our wedding cake figurines. My husband is telling me a secret  :)

Lee Torrens

I adore my avatar. It represents me in many ways:

1. I love technology and my laptop is my tool for work and life (unfortunately it's not as nice as the one in the photo)

2. I love coffee. I didn't drink it until I was 24 which I suspect is why I'm now hypersensitivity to it. A strong cappuccino gives me a buzz not-dissimilar to class A drugs, but with no come-down

3. I work from home and I'm a teleworking enthusiast. I have homes in Melbourne and Buenos Aires, and I've been living in London for the past six months. (that makes me sound wealthy, but I'm not)

4. In business my foundation principles are elimination and automation, hence the conspicuous absence of people!

I purchased this photo from iStockphoto and I use it everywhere. Best dollar I ever spent!  ;)

What Avatar, mine is a real photo I took of myself?  ;)

I just realized, that when I change Avatars, the joke will make no sense.

Is that a Victory?  *.

To be a part of this discussion, I guess I have to upload my own avatar then. Here it is, a few grains of rice. The basis of life for so many people. Simplicity and survival?

Wow, that's a nice bike, pixelbrat!

I used to ride about its exact opposite: a Kawasaki Ninja. Tons 'o fun on fast twisting roads.

Wow, sweet bike!!  Very cool pic as well!  I would love to have a "crotch rocket" but I have a bit of a lead foot/wrist as it is.  I don't think it would be good for me or my wallet.   ;D

The amazing creatures that we have all around us lets me know of the great designer and helps me to see the strength and beauty in the rhino.  ;D

oops!!!!! i forgot the avatar :D

Quevaal

The Q is for Quevaal. A nick I started using after a teacher I had in England ten years ago was not able to pronounce my real surname properly. :)

I made the avatar myself (from a font, though).

Sharply! >:( Where's you helmet??? ;)

sharply_done

I never wore a helmet when I rode it locally. I liked riding it barefoot, too, shifting gears using my big toe. On top of that, I didn't have a driver's license for it, either.

I guess I don't follow rules so well ...
