I would really like to figure this out.

I typically average 1 or 2 ELs a month at SS.

From late Sept to late Nov, I averaged 1 or 2 ELs a day at SS.  There were many days during this period that I saw several a day, with the rush peaking at 7 ELs in one day.  It was a glorious time.

But it seems to have come to a crashing halt in late November, with just one EL since then. 

I know others here also experienced a crazy rush of ELs.  Did anyone figure out the cause for them?  If you also had the unexplained EL rush, did it end or slow way down in late November for you as well?

I have less than 200 images on ss, so you can imagine my Els are pretty infrequent. However, like for many they suddenly started appearing more. I had 3 in August and 1 in early October, which for me is a 'Rush'. None since then though.

I had an alright run as well, no days of 7 EL and certainly not an average of one a day but quite a few in early Nov.  I have only had one since Nov 17 though.

Good ELs month in November, until about 18th. Since then I had only 2 ELs, one in December.

2 ELs in October but no more after that. But I only have 200 images on SS so...

No its not,  had ELs, in the beginning of this month. They keep coming, no doubt.

Same I find constant EL every months. I am already at 3 EL for this month so seems good.

Best EL month for me has been on August, with one day I got 6 ELs on the same day (pretty surprising to see). Cheers for Shutterstock ELs!

Wait, what?  Constant ELs?  You missed the point.

Look at PixelAway's numbers.  Clearly there was something very wonderful happening in Sept, Oct and Nov.  My numbers look a lot like his.  There was something crazy happening with ELs for about a sixty day period covering those three months, and a bunch of us experienced it and no one has apparently figured out what it was.

My own assumption, because I haven't heard a better theory, is that it had something to do with the big push SS gave to its single image purchase offer starting in September. 

Any other thoughts.

(P.S... this morning I woke up to see 2 ELs for the day already... maybe the mad rush is continuing after all?)

I too had a nice boost in ELs those 3 months (although smaller than others reported), and the last one was Nov 22. Hopefully I'll get 2 tomorrow...

Me too. Pretty quiet on the EL front.

I have a very small port there, but I saw the same - only one EL between starting at SS in Oct 2010 and July 2011, then two in Aug and one in Sept.

Were they on sale?  I would love to know....

I do vectors. I usually get 2-3 dls per month. Then my experience was something like PixelsAway:
On Sept 22 I got 2 dls.
From then through Nov 14 I got 30 dls.
Then the dls stopped, until today, when I got one.
A theory for why the dl bonanza started: A lot of big spending buyers left IS and went to SS. But if so, why did the dls seem to suddenly stop?

I usually get 1 or 2 a month but I had 8 in November.  The last one was on the 29th.  It might be that the EL buyers are less busy in December.  I hope they have a good 2012

maybe some big company was getting like 1000 extended licenses for some huge project. eg like when microsoft did that deal with fotolia or was it istock to have small sized photos in microstock office ?

Yes I understand what you mean Didn't put any extra thought at those numbers...

For me (but I'm a poor example as I increase my portfolio a LOT each months so it's normal to see progress over months):
May = 1
June = 1
July = 2
August = 8
September = 4
October = 3
November = 3
December (5 days) = 3

Not sure I can relate to PixelAways number, but my big EL months was August, with better months after but nothing as a spike.

December do have a great start tho.

I had a flurry of ELs also. I'm also getting a lot more of the on-demand sales as well. SS in now beating IS for me every month because of that.

Discouraging thread.  I'm seeing NONE of this.   
Sales have been good but ELs are few and far between.   

I just got an EL today.
