Just went to log in to my SS account and they have a new, clean login page. Glad to see they dumped that stupid captcha nonsense. I mean I'm all for protecting our accounts, but that just seemed archaic. Wonder if there is still some sort of security on the login?

Nice, that captcha was annoying. It wasn't to protect our accounts or anything like that, it was to save bandwidth by blocking computer programs from logging in automatically - to aggregate stats or something like that.
We get it ... -snip- ... we are lazy, incompetent, greedy or uncaring. Rebecca Rockafellar for Istock HQ

Whatever it was for, I'm glad it's gone.

This will ruin the day for some people who had nothing else to worry about except continuously complaining about the re-captcha. Save some good thoughts for them, because their party has ended and they will need something new to whine about. LOL  ;D

I always felt that there was a bigger question. If someone can't read some scrambled letters on a screen, how could they edit the fine details of a photograph? Think about that?

Really? not on this forum.

Seriously.  I can't be bothered to keep up with all the site forums.  I come here for my info.  Thanks for posting this Cathy :)

And thanks SS for getting rid of it!

It appears, to me, that Shutterstock has fallen victim to a sales pitch from Recaptcha, based on fear. It's unfortunate a little more research wasn't taken, to see how other sites handle these issues, without turning off the contributors. I predict that Shutterstock will drop this burden laden plan, one day, in an effort to promote a more professional and user friendly site.

I'm surprised by all the happiness from the absence of the captcha. I thought it was a Game  ;)

Actually, it was manual OCR enhancement.

I sure hope other web companies are starting to get the message on captchas.  It's like the TSA making us remove our shoes and belts.  Enough is enough - time to address security via improved technology instead of pushing problems off onto your users.

Shutterstock announced a contributor APP so we can track earnings and license sales, etc.  I'm willing to bet they got rid of the CAPTCHA because of their new APP.

If I was in Las Vegas I'd be willing to bet the farm that You Are Correct!  ;D
