Me too finally. Yesterday I applied with 4 images. Lets see if they accept me..

Same here, I uploaded my 4 this evening.  Do they really take 25 days to QC them?

Fingers crossed anyway  :)

Did I read right that they want a file size of 55 mb?

An uncompressed file size of between 48MB and 200MB.  If you use Photoshop the uncompressed file size can be found in the bottom left of the window or on the 'image size' dialog box.  Don't forget if you're using 16bit RAW files to change them to 8 bit before you upsize them.

My interpolated 49MB images when saved as a compressed jpeg have a file size of just over 6MB.

Just had my submission approved only took 3 working days.  ;D

I just got accepted too and took just 2 days to  receive the QC results . seems like thing are getting fast there I hope sales will be the same way too. ;D

I have waited for fist QC for 4 weeks; after that i submitted in one week 12 batches (3-7 files each); they all we passed QC in 3 days after the last batch. Now again I am waiting for 10 batches to pass QC already 3 weeks.
Does not look that they do it fast, rather sporadically ...

It took four weeks to approve my second batch of images.  There is a poll somewhere in the forum at Alamy that suggests this is the norm.  I'll try a larger batch next time as at this rate it will take ages to build up my portfolio.

Does the 48meg to 200 meg requirement at Alamy that you were speaking of above allow for "upsizing" in a photo editor or do they expect it to come off of a high end camera that way?

I am learning here so please forgive my ignorance ...

You need to upsize your photos. If you do a little digging, you should easily find out how it's done.

Excuse my ignorance on this subject but can this be done with images that were shot as jpg. Will there be poor quality on the file produced.

For what it's worth, I have a few pictures that were taken in jpeg (highest quality, superfine, no in-camera sharpening), upsized, and approved.

Cheers.
