A  light  tent  and  some  great  accessories.  2  seperate  deliveries  but  should  have  it  by  Wed  1/9/ 13.  Any  info  on  how  i  should  set  it  up  or  other  info  would  be  helpfull  and  appreciated.

     Not  an  opion.  Went  to  you  tube  and  seen  some  videos.  I  think  i  understand  a  little  on  how  to  use  it.

Congrats to the win! But unfortunately ruxpriencdiam is correct IMO. A light tents is no good! In fact its not good at all despite what you've seen on youtube. You'll have no control of the ligt and the images will look flat and unappealing. It feels like a light tent is just a way to squeeze some money from unaware camera owners.

Anyway you are better off than me who actually payed a lot of money for a light tent a couple of years ago

I'm going to disagree.  I used a light cube to shoot a lot of still life objects, many of which continue to sell.  Think of your light tent as a soft box around your subject instead of your lights.  Position your lights outside the tent.  I used daylight balanced fluorescents when I started (camera on a tripod for the long exposure required by "hot" lights", but later switched to speedlights.  Continuous lights are easier, since you can see where shadows fall and move things around, but I got better results with strobes.

congrats! i think its a great starting point. i had one when i first started, but soon wanted to shoot things that were too big to fit in it. we use a similar thing here at work, not a light tent but a box with the lights in it. it works ok for small parts but now that i know how to shoot without it, i would much prefer to do it that way. unfortunately no space for a studio and no budget for the lights. 

I have a couple of light cubes. But I'm not using them the traditional way. I put a few compact fluorescent bulbs inside them and use them as a substitute for paper china lanterns when I'm shooting videos.

You CAN control the light in a light tent somewhat by moving the lights (both position and distance). You can also use black cards to add some contrast/shadows.

if you use 100w incandescent bulbs , you can use them to bake a muffin...

Dan, has your light tent arrived yet?  If so, have you played with it, and what do you think so far?

how long have you tried? how many hours? its not that hard, try and try until you will get there
