123RF Now in Top Tier

Not sure if I'm the first to declare this... and the poll results at the right don't quite reflect this yet... but that might change when we vote based on our May results, so here I am to say it "real-time."

As I'm concerned, 123RF is now in the top tier.  (I know it's not a popular thing to say, given the reaction to their recent changes, but you might as well start getting used to the idea.  They're officially big time.)

For me, and I'm suspecting many others given the rise in the poll, 123 has been on a strong rise lately.  This month, they're neck and neck with FT (my #2 and falling fast), and quite a bit ahead of DT and IS.

If we still think of the Top Tier as the Big 4, I could easily push DT down... at least that's what my numbers say.

What say you?

The last time this was declared was when 123rf was in the top tier (briefly) according to the poll results on the right. Shortly after they announced a different royalty structure, which reduced royalties for many contributors. As far as I am aware they never regained the momentum they had when they were officially in the top tier, according to msg poll results.

They generally run about 50% of DT unless they are having a very good month at the same time that DT is having a very bad month.

Had they actually doubled sales like they said they would, then they might very well be in the top tier. They certainly didn't for me.

I submit to 17 companies and they are at #4 thus not bad at all...

During 4 months I have not sold even one image in 123RF...
(I suspect that there is something wrong with my account :D :D )
But I have regular sales on other sites...

Top tier?? For more sales I'm getting less income.
RF is lower middle tier for me.

I barely sell 2-3 pictures a month there if I'm lucky  :)

For whatever it's worth nothing has changed much for me either.  last couple of months up by $20 or so, but back to normal so far this month.

liking  2  subs  or  1  regular  sale  to  become  ny  no.2  site.

I used to really like 123 and they had a lot of positive buzz before the commission cuts.  They were my #4 for total earnings.  So far this year I have made less every month than the month before and this month is abysmal.  Almost all subs sales and not a ton of those.  For this year so far they are #5 for total earnings and may drop to #6 behind CanStock (although CS has died this month as well).  I'm glad you're doing well but for me they have dropped a lot and I can't get enthusiastic about continued uploading with the low prices and low royalty rates.

I'm at a BME on 123RF!!! Best of 80+ months. Thank you 123RF!

Looking at downloads I'm (almost) on track for the good years of 2011 and 2012 - and that definitely would put them in the top tier for me.

Thanks to commission cuts and a general shift to smaller sizes and/or subscription sales income will be approx. half of 2011...  :'(

Sales are constantly growing at 123RF. They are tops for me.  ;D

For anyone who has a similar port size on the other top 4 sites, 123 is unlikely to compare well given the low prices and where there is not volume or occasional SOD / EL type sale to bring them up.  Possibly viable for those with several thousand images who get 50% commissions or those with lots of rejections on top 4 and benefit because even a bad market is better than no market.

After they cut commission I had more sales but approximately half in money. And I've deleted my port from them.

Excellent summation.

They're  no. 2  for  me  and  June  has  been  my  BME.  Still  almost  half  of  June  to  go  and  if  the  last  half  is  as  good  as  the  first  half  everything  will  be  fine.

cthoman

And people wonder why we don't get paid more.  ;D

From my last message in this thread (one month ago) sales on 123RF are growing slowly but enough regularly now, surely more DT than since the last week of May has sold very little...

flashon

It's growing for me for past couple of months, definitely in my top tier.
