Danicek

15,700g

not only nice, also heavy :o

PaulieWalnuts

Does it shoot missles too? Looks like it belongs mounted to a tank.

Wow, just wow. the design is also kind of weird. And Sigma announced lot of new lenses whit the OS, what I don't like so much. But what a lens it incredable

Rozmaryna

Limited offer: A transportation tool - stylish green wheelbarrow included, free of charge!

Pixart

I couldn't find the street price.  I'm wondering if I'd be able to afford a new car before one of these???

stokfoto

it's good to know there is such a nice gadget out there but I doubt if I ever need this.for me it's just an expensive toy which I'd hardly need, but I am sure there are many people who could put it in a good use.
and yes it does look  like a military equipment:)

epixx

Ummm.... do they come in pink??

KiwiRob

that's one crazy mofo of a lense. I bet the plane spotters will get juiced up over this one.

wysiwyg_foto

I want one.

I could sell the 24 - 105 and the 100 - 400 and stick with my 24-70, 70-200, and now 200 - 500.  Nothing like faster glass!

ParisEye

I think it will be a hit with war photoreporters. They already get killed because some snipers "seem to believe" they are wearing guns...

digiology

at almost 35lbs, certainly not your everyday walk-a-round lens (at least it has a handle)  :D

Yeah, but it's image stabilized!  8)

rossco

Needs its own battery to power the AF!  :o

Also has LCD listing the focal length and distance.....

sharpshot

And it costs £10,000.  That's about 3x more than my car :)

Does it come with a camera as a bonus?  :D

There's a camera attached. You can't see it?

GeoPappas

Here are some useful tips for using this lens (which I have deemed the "Super Duper BIGMA") properly:

1. DON'T attach camera to tripod and then lens to camera.

2. DON'T use this lens to take photos of aircraft at an airport.

3. DON'T take this lens to a government facility and utter the word "terrorist", "missile", or "jihad".

3. The shutter speed rule (1/focal length) DOES NOT work with this lens.

4. DON'T handhold this lens without medical support nearby.

5. DO remove dust with a vacuum cleaner

6. DON'T take this lens on a small boat.

and finally

7. DO purchase a Humvee to transport this lens.  Even better, is the newly released MRAP vehicle (seen here: http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/images/LAND_MRAP_IMG_MPV_MaxxPro_Schema_lg.jpg).

;D

Pywrit

Perhaps they should sell it with a back support belt included.
Nothing separates black and white as much as gray.

wow, yeah that is bigger than i thought :)

madelaide

I like the ingenious positioning of the filter. Otherwise it would require what, a 200mm filter diameter?  :D
