if stock agencies can't even catch infringers among their own pool of contributors how can we expect they fight thieves in the rest of the world ?

leaf

I hope you are reporting possible infringements to the original artist or agency.  It doesn't do much good to simply post links in a forum.  The only one who can take action on an infringement is the original artist who can send a DMCA notice to the agency.

Wow, as the original artist of that mountain graphic. That hurts. :(

It's bad enough that my sales continue to plummet on iStock but then you have people ripping you off as well. Did anyone report it? Should I report it?

edit: I've submitted a ticket to iStock. Who knows when it will be handled.

edit2: Is there a way I can send a DMCA myself? Does anyone have resources for me to do that?

on a positive note i've read a few days ago the spanish government proposed to fine every web site that doesn't comply with EU copyright laws, hopefully it could set a precedent and open the doors for a EU-wide tough regulation against thieves and scroungers, the medias called it the "google tax".

It's irritating how there are people who do not bother to create and copy the art of others (and still have the lazy to change a few things) trying to fool the original authors. Still call us donkeys indirectly, as if a little change would mislead the original authors.  >:(

"delta_art" is ripping off both the original artists and the agencies.

@leaf   I reported about these scam accounts to iStock prior to posting here.
@filo    I sent you PM.

Good find again, Stvagna! Agencies should really give you full time job.

The thief is still there, selling other artists works as his own.

Delta Art's other alias on iStock, Ernesomn, had an image called The Network iStock #50035712.  I had downloaded a comp of that for a brochure and it was finally approved by our client.  I went back to purchase it, and it's gone.  Ernesomn has been shut down on iStock.  In my effort to search for Ernesomn, I came across this blog.  It's the good thing I didn't purchase it yet.  So now I am trying (with no results) to track down the original owner so it can be purchased for our client.  Does anyone have any idea where I can find this from its original owner?

Oh, and here is another link to this image on Ernesomn's page on Pond5:  http://www.pond5.com/illustration/43163208/network.html
