10 sales/month average

may not seem much, but measured in proper units (2 pints and a glass) makes you happy anyway

Decided to join them in the end about 3 months ago. Got 1 sale first month then zero since. Port of about 380 with them at present.  Done a selective upload as they do not support vectors and I first wanted to see if it will be worth my while to upload my complete port. So far, I doubt it.

I get a handful a month. Every now and again I get a payout. The good thing about it is that the whole process is painless. I suppose they make a few hundred or even a few thousand euros a month and have to do very little work for it.

5-10 sales a month. But the pictures that sell there are very different from the ones that sell on SS and DT. It is obvious from my sales that ScanStock mainly focuses on the Scandinavian market, I think I've sold more cross country skiing pics on Scanstock alone, than on the other agencies combined. :)

I do not like that they keep so much of the money (flat rate of 1 Euro is not enough, considering they charge the customers 3-4 Euros/image), but they are helpfull, and pay their bills several weeks before the due date.

Im Swedish,  so take this from me!

No Scandinavian agency EVER, have remotly understood anything about stock-photography,  its a total, complete waste of time!  many agencies here are back in the stoneage, still working out of shoe-boxes.
Scandinavia is a very rich part of the world but to expect to pay for pictures?  NEVER or to organize a stock-library: NEVER.

There not too bad in the Macro world, Scanpix were well respected for one.

Thats it!  if you go with a Scandinavian agency, it must be Macro,  Micro, is something they dont understand.

I know this post is ancient - but wondering if anyone knows a Scandinavian site that does decently. Trad or midstock probably makes more sense for me because I have probably about 100-150 good stock photos from Sweden - and then some nice general snow/holiday and concept stuff that could sell anywhere, so @ 1 Euro a sale I'd never make a payout.

What does Paypal charge to change Euros to US Dollars? The same 3% as they do for credit card sales?

They dont charge a flat 3%  rate, they a apply a conversion rate, and as with all conversion rates, they fluctuate constantly,

Thanks Ron re Paypal - wasn't sure how it worked with Euros

Anyone know about the Scandinavian stock sites?

Truly feeble sales - nothing for months.
Stopping uploading and closing account. Not even worth leaving the pics there.
:(

2-3 Downloads per month, but I have just a few pics online there. So it isn't soo bad. And thank you for your thread, I had really forgotten Scandinavian Stockphotos untill today, and when I checked out the agency a saw my sales  :D 8)

Saw this old thread pop up again. Is https://www.scanstockphoto.com/photo/index.php the only Scandinavian site out there? Just wondering if anyone knows of other sites that cater to Scandinavian imagery at traditional rather than micro prices?

There are some more, but ... for example YAY-Micro from Norway, with almost the lowest prices on the market. Stockphotomedia, located in Malmö, Sweden I believe, with better prices, but sales are down for me there. And of course Mostphotos, there you have the opportunity to turn off the subscription-sales. However all these agencies are low earners and not worth any effort in my opinion.

To their credit they did close my account very promptly and sent me the few Euros I was owed.

Thanks. Appreciate the info. You have lovely portfolios on SS and Fotolia. If you're not selling on those other sites, then I won't waste my time either.

The good thing about Mostphotos is that their payout threshold is only 10 Euro. So that is actually one of the places I have the most regular payouts.
