Hi all -first message from a newly registered member, but longtime lurker on this forum!

Today I got 8 consecutive downloads of the same picture (subscription price). I have been selling on SS for almost two years and never had this happen before. What is it, what does it mean?

Thanks!

It's possible that the image got selected for a featured lightbox and now it has bigger exposure. Also, it might have been used in a newsletter to a certain group of buyers who might be interested in that topic.

Is it regular sub or SOD?  I've noticed this month several days when most of my SOD's are the same shot, and all for 38 cents :(   Can't explain why one day it's all hockey photos, the next it's all line dancing!

Yeah, I had yesterday 4 SODs, 3 of them same photo. And all for 0.33$

Funnily enough I had a run of 3 subs and a sod for 33c was quite an old picture with fairly average sales struck me as odd

And I had 29 "single and other downloads" from the same image on the 14th. Never happened to me before and I'm on Shutterstock since 2008. I thought it was a glitch from the site but so far no one asked for the money back. :)

Perhaps the buyer is stacking licenses to avoid buying an extended license.

Does Shutterstock ask money back when there is an error in sales?
(I am not sure)

I wonder if it could be an image offered in a scheme with a partner and the sales are reported in bulk monthly. For example that could be the only one of your images available in a selection to Facebook advertisers and it sold 8 times over the month ( I know this is not how fb sales are reported but something similar)

I believe these are FB downloads and FB appears to hold off on updating their info to SS (or some such thing as that). I don't know if they just report in once a month or what, but the multiple SOD's at regular sub price have been identified on ss forums as those FB downloads.
