Anyone got payment from 123 yet?

oscarcwilliams

No, not me.  I wish we didn't have to wait so long to get our funds.

I sent them an email about 12 hours ago to ask about my payment. No response.

I got my payment yesterday as usual on 15th!

Me

My March payment was 17th of month, April payment 20th of month and May payment 16th of month. Before that every month since I started in 2010 payment was no later than 15th so it is only a recent issue. I am still waiting for payment this month also.

Sounds like they are following Shutterstock's lead. SS has also been late the past couple of months.

On my earnings page June's earnings are still added to the earnings balance, not set back to 0. Is this done only on SS, I don't remember how this works on 123?

Well, a few days delay is not the end of the world but a promise is a promise. We should know what to expect, if it is the 15th, it shouldn't be the 20th. I never had this problem with 123 before.

I'm holding my other payments (probably others too) because I don't want to pay withdrawing fees for each chunk.

Yeah, me to, I have still my SS earnings on paypal and am waiting for 123rf so I can withdraw all at once:)

I got my payment on 15th as usual.  :)

In all the years with them I never got paid later than the 15th until 3 months ago where they have been late every month since.

I went and checked the legal agreement with them yesterday as I didn't get my payment this month either.

Unfortunately, they're not "late" as they have no fixed time by which they have to pay! It sounds outrageous (only because it is) but it says in section 7h: "Payment Schedule: All payments are made on or after the 15th following the month that Your Minimum Payout Threshold is reached. Example, if You reached US$100.00 worth of commissions by end February and elect Skrill, 123RF will pay You US$100.00 by the 3rd week of March."

https://www.123rf.com/submit/agreement.php

With the above wording, they could pay us in August and still be "on time"...

They had a good long stretch where they paid on the 15th or before if the 15th was over the weekend, and that seemed reasonable. Not fair necessarily, but reasonable.

I had a little wander through the internet archive to look at when and how 123rf had changed the submit agreement. There were announced changes (a banner at the top of the page for a little while, later unhelpfully removed so you can't tell) in February 12, 2012 and April 16, 2015.

For the 2015 change, there is now a clause 7g:

"Modification: 123RF reserves the right to modify the commission rate and/or payment processing and/or payment delivery schedule at any time and notify You by email of the change."

Did anyone get e-mail from 123rf in April last year about these changes? I keep e-mails with notices of change like this and I don't have anything (possibly I deleted it, but I don't remember getting anything).

In the prior version of the agreement, the notification was in clause 8.8:

"Pay periods are scheduled on the 3rd of each month. 123RF® reserves the right to modify the commission rate and/or payment processing and/or payment delivery schedule at any time and notify you by email of the change."

If anyone wants to look at the before 2012 and 2012-2015 versions of the agreements, they are here:

https://web.archive.org/web/20111229143331/http://www.123rf.com/submit/agreement.php

https://web.archive.org/web/20120312045215/http://www.123rf.com/submit/agreement.php

It in the agreements prior to April last year, there was a defined end date by which we'd be paid in section 8.7:

"All payments are made 2 weeks in arrears to the month in which your payment limit is reached. Example, by end of February you have $100 worth of commissions, 123RF® will pay you $100 latest by the 3rd week of March."

It seems to me that they went from having a fixed payment schedule to one where we should be happy to get paid whenever without sending us notice as the agreement requires.

Does anyone have any copies of e-mails from them notifying us of these changes?

no payment here as well, paypal method

Anthony

No payment here either. Read this in the 123RF FAQ. " Payments should reach you by the 17th of the month for all forms of payment." Hopefully tomorrow.

Dodie

Thanks Jo Ann for the detailed info. I always keep emails from agencies but I don't have any from 123.

I emailed support before I opened this thread, no answer yet.

@Anthony,
We know what stays in the FAQ but last month payment was late too (for some of us).

Nothing here yet, and no notification of change in terms, as quoted by Jo Ann.  So now they can't be counted on to pay by 15th anymore?  Great. ::)

What a shame!  We supply images which can be sold and we are treated like 3rd class citizens.  All we ask that we get paid on time for our services.  Is that enough to ask?

How would they feel if they had to wait to get paid?  I don't that think that would hold well with them.

I agree. Some agencies overall seem to take it easy with payout dates.

Clipdealer also changed their payout dates over the course of the last year. Every month I got my money a few days later. Not cool, if one relies on individual payments to be on time...

My payment arrived late Thursday.

I got it too this morning (17th).
