I am old member in footage industry and wonder if someone had good experience with disolve?

From my experience.

They limit your uploads. I think when I first joined it was 25 clips per month and I requested this limit to be lifted, but they only gave me 125 per month instead.

It takes between 1-3 months to review content and they aren't too harsh with their reviewing.

Metadata tagging is possible and fairly simple.

I see sales monthly and it is ranked my 6th most successful out of 11 agencies for 2018.

Your monthly sales are reported mid month for the previous month. So I've today just received November's sales, which isn't great as I can't see day by day sales.

Monthly payments direct to PayPal.

Would I recommend them? Yes. They're one of the easier agencies to work with, especially for uploading and tagging if you have a metadata sheet to hand. My gripes are the restrictions on uploading, review times and the updates to payment frequency.

Nope.  Not very friendly toward contributors.  No respect to us.

I do alright with this one. Makes me 15% of my royalties out of 4 sites.

In what way? I make the same % from them as I do SS and P5 and they accept more footage than Adobe. I'm curious as to why they aren't contributor friendly? They've been good to me.

Thanks!

Dissolve was profitable in 2013/2014/2015, then it all went to hell (in January 2016 I had $473.19, this year only $46). Also, they will lower your prices to the lowest prices you have on the market. And they've become so picky about footage, that I stopped uploading. Screw this crap.

Stay away.  Very hostile to contributors.  No respect.

I've had nothing but great experiences with the Dissolve team. You sound like a broken record and offer no reason as to why you dislike them.

Hey guys,

I wanted to make this a new topic but it appears that my account is too new to do that. Anyway this seemed like a semi appropriate place to ask my question.

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on getting out of the Dissolve contributor contract. Just the other day I asked them to remove my profile to which they responded that I'm under contract till 2023 and all of my content will remain on the site till then. I was pretty surprised by this and think its relatively ridiculous. I remember signing the 5 year agreement but at the time I didn't think that meant once an asset was uploaded I had no control over removing it. Every stock platform I've sold with has allowed the removal of assets.

I read in older threads that dissolve had terminated some peoples accounts so I thought it might be worth asking if anyone has advice.

StockDaebak

Only dealt with them briefly, never was more insulted.

Two years later, any new reviews or opinions?
I mean new news, not what is written above.
Friendly or hostile?
Do they sell or not?
Pricing? I see HD clips advertised from $24?
Would this be a good alternative for SS now on or not?

Thanks!

they sell not much but the price is still 79/179$....so for me it's worth to upload there...
the 24$ per clip you see comes from people that submit the same clip at lower price somewhere else so dissolve matches the lower price..i find it fair...

All my clips are priced at $49 and when I emailed them they said that's the new pricing. I have clips on P5 for $149/$75 so they definitely aren't matching the lowest price, they are going far below it.

georgep7

Similar pricing in P5 but still i see popup previews with "from $31" and frick out.
Anyway.
Finally rejected my idea.
I went through their agreement and there is no content deletion option. They clearly state this.
I mean content deletion from the contributor's side.
That is more restrictive even than exclusivity.

They still sell clips nobody else does, however, I only give them my junkers and none of my high-end hyperlapse footage.
