Just signed up with BS, does it worth the time and effort? What's your thoughts? I know they are at the bottom of the middle tier but some people say that sales are improving. What's your experience?
Thanks in advance.

They are the sandbox for SS to experiment with paying us less.
We get it ... -snip- ... we are lazy, incompetent, greedy or uncaring. Rebecca Rockafellar for Istock HQ

No. Years ago they were decent but it has really gotten bad over there.
Plus, they don't let you removes images unless you email them.

Thanks a lot guys. Really appreciate your advice. I'm not gonna bother submitting to them if that's the case.
Thanks again.

I make about the same at Big Stock as Dreamstime, so not lots, but I do receive regular sales. I've continued to upload to it, and it's a pretty simple interface to submit images. I've never managed to get videos submitted, but my portfolio is primarily images anyway.

I am on 10 stock sites.
If I could do it all over again I would skip CanStock and BigStock, not worth the time and effort.

Thank you so much again for the input. I already made my decision I'm not going to bother with Bigstock. I may give Dreamstime another shot...

Was a very Good site Before SS bought them. Tim and Dawn were very cool People. SS killed it. Probably a tax shelter. and Canstock?? really?

it depends in which country you live. A am living in a low income country, it is worth for me. I don´t want to miss it.

Right.  This has been the case nearly every time we have a discussion about low-sale sites.  For me, BigStock has gone down to Canstock levels. I made regularly about $80-100 a month there, and now it's $20 a month.  It makes sense though. With SS buying them I think BigStock is really more of a test site and not really used to generate primary revenue.  That is SS.  I doubt there is much advertising for BigStock and their slow decline in sales will end up like Panthermedia and all of those other sites that generate nothing.  I'm letting my images ride because I am on the bridge to nowhere with SS.  But outside of that, I would not be adding content.  I am opted out on the video side, too.

So if you are in a high-cost of living country, expect to not make much at BigStock. They are in the low tier for me, not middle like to poll says.  Other mileage may vary, of course.  For low income countries, you can earn a few dollars there but I would consider that BigStock might ultimately close their doors sooner than later (just speculating here).

Though whatever the cost of living in your country it also depends if you could be using the  time spent to generate more income elsewhere. Bstock is quick to upload and is a fairly non brain engaging task.

I have a feeling that BigStock being the poor cousin of SS just cannibalizes my SS earnings. I uploaded a test set pics, wasn't impressed with the results, and couldn't be bothered since. CanStock on the other hand isn't a large moneymaker but it's OK and its RPD is better than on SS. Additionally I like the people working there, they have always been very helpful.

davidbautista

I think it's good. I sell almost a half of what I sell in SS.

Then you're not selling much at SS.

FWIW, the poll history graph is very surprising re BigStock:

Sorry, that's Envato which seems to be soaring.

Not worth. Been with them for more than ten years. My portfolio is around 5200 images and I make $2-5 a month with them.
A few years ago with a smaller portfolio I was around $20-30 a month.

GrayMouse

I am a long time there, few years, but... I got paid twice  ;D
I don't want sell my images everywhere as I am respecting my spent time, skills and effort. I have PF on SS around 2000 imgs and I don't plan to put it all on BS (where I have just 100 imgs).

Not Today

In my experience, BS is better for editorial photos than commercial ones.

Definitely not my highest earner. However, when I look at the stats, it's not that bad. It's my 4th highest revenue generator (after SS, IS and Alamy), even though the three highest earners have way higher numbers. If I look at the RPI, it's the 5th one (Adobe does better, but my portfolio is smaller there, as I mainly upload Editorial content). Furthermore, it is probably the platform that has the most stable RPI, which is a pretty good sign for future developments.

So, as a low earner, I definitely advice to give it a try, without spending too much time, and without expecting huge return.

Same here
And yes, kind of better for editorials.

For me is good, not time waisted submitting....

It is a low earner for me but I do make weekly and daily sales their. Most of the sales are under 50 cents each but they all add up at the end of the year.

No way to self delete at Bigstock.  Support has to do it for you.
