Hi,
I am deleting my images on Shutterstock one by one. You probably know why ....
When checking it the next day, I still find many of those images that obviously have not been deleted. They are offered by shutterstock as "Get these images for FREE. Download this image now with a free trial."
How is this possible? Does anyone know how I can get these images deleted permanently?
Your help would be greatly apprechiated.

Were they available for free before you deleted them? If it's only after deleting then this could get them into trouble but I think they can afford losing most of our work so I doubt this is the case.

Deactivating portfolio's takes a day or two so deleting will probably be similar or worse. Give it few days Raymond and then report back.

Good luck!

Might take 90 days to delete, in the contract you agreed to.

I manually deleted 6,800 assets with no limits from SS.  Used the script for the stills and manually killed 2300 videos within two weeks.  I bet they fk with us more by formally limiting how many assets one can delete in a given period.

Yep, I'm surprised that hasn't happened already. They imposed that "you can't reactivate for 30 days" crap, this will be next.

Hi Mantis, can you tell me the procedure to delete video assets? I only see the way asking SS to delete my account but I would like just to delete my asset by myself as you did.
Thank you

Click on the "portfolio" icon and select "Catalog Manager".  In there you click on the video tab.  Once your videos come up, click on the pencil edit icon on top of the thumbnail.  Your video will open. In the upper tight is a trashcan icon.  Click it, then click yes to confirm deletion.  Go back to Catalog Manager and start the next one.  I can get through 100 videos in about 15 minutes.

Thank you Mantis.
More job for SS. I will delete my clip. What a pity. This month I got 9 download at 0,96 $. That is before the new system. It's too much.

Hi,
after deleting my images one by one, my portfolio now is empty. However, when I look in my account in the column ,,View all top performers" there are still images showing up, that are offered by Shutterstock as ,,Get this image for FREE. Download this image now with a free trial. ..."

Furthermore, I find (all) my images, that I had on Shutterstock and which are now deleted, on Google images linked to Shutterstock. Doesn't Shutterstock have to make sure that these pictures are no longer there?

I think your images will show in searches for awhile, but if you click and follow them to SS, and try to purchase them, it will say they are no longer available or contact support, or something like that. Also remember that the contributor agreement allows them to sell your images for a certain period of time even after you have deleted or disabled.

Cathyslife, don't understand what your full stop in your replay is supposed to say.

My hint that my images are still on google with the link to Shutterstock after deletion (even if clicking on it leads nowhere) means that this is some kind of advertisement for Shutterstock. At least the name of the company is there visible. Advertisement for Shutterstock with my deleted images? Is this ok?

You can't delete posts, so if you change your mind about saying something, all you can do is put a character in the box. That's what the period means.

Your images will disappear from Google in time.
