It seems that I can't reply to existing threads or start new ones on the forums at SS. Can't send private messages either. Hopefully, the ban is temporary. I didn't receive any notification about it or anything like that. No e-mail.

Ive hardly said anything negative on the forums. I did share my outrage of the new massive payment cut but so have most other contributors. And I expressed my thoughts about that ages ago - not recently. And some contributors have been a lot more vocal and aggressive about that topic than I have.

Oh well. I guess I'll just have to wait it out.

You got microstock forum which in my opinion is the best..
why in world do you want to be in a forum where who owns it treats you badly?  don't get me wrong but i find it good news to be banned from that particular forum. Kind regards.

Dunno what's up with SS forum but I noticed yesterday that 'quotes' were disabled but didn't try to post anything. If you look at the landing page of the SS forum you'll notice that the last posts (most up-to-date) are from Tuesday. I reckon that it's maybe been cancelled due to lack of positivity toward SS. 

Hey good point. Ive noticed an absence of new posts recently. And gosh yea that would be a bold move disabling the forum but I'm not surprised why.

There were some good people on those forums that I liked to converse with.

I have noticed a few people had short term bans from the forums recently. I just assumed that the same thing happened to me.

I think that SS does notify you if you're banned because they also give you a re-instatement date. I looked at my forum profile and no bans or warnings on that. So.....maybe they just suspended the forums. Must have been painful to them having gotten all adverse comments removed from FB and other social media only to discover that they were hosting their own adverse comments site. 

Time is better spent elsewhere anyway my friend

I would not be concerned if they would ban me, on the contrary, it would only confirm my thoughts about them. They are making things much worse for them by trying to keep up appearance. Banning people or hiding the truth will not make them more popular.
I am more concerned with the way you say "hopefully the ban is temporary" but maybe you just want to alert your friends that you will be moving to this forum

I think they have suspended it. Only one Hummer Thread post has got through in the last 24 hours+. New threads can't be started either. The only thing that is working is the voting.

A number of hours have passed and still no new posts on the SS forums. I think you may be right about them being disabled. Odd that they didn't make an announcement about this.

If this is a permanent move, I wonder if they will keep the forums accessible for viewing or get rid of them completely.

Shutterstock isn't famous for their super communication skills so I don't expect we'll have the courtesy of an explanation.  We have been silenced.

Might be just a bug. If they suspend forums that would be huge

Not always they dont.  I got banned a few hours after the pay cut announcements for posting a PM from a moderator telling me to stop asking questions and being negative about it.
I got no notification email or forum - just "banned" when i go to the forum.  And no expiry date.
I know a few others banned in a similar way as well.

(I was expecting to get banned, just clarifying you dont always receive any notification, warning or confirmation).

I reported it as a bug to the inappropriately named 'support'. From my phone I can't even log in. One of their super helpful 'experts' asked me for a screenshot. I asked how I can do a screenshot of nothing.

Just heard back from 'support'. Apparently if I use my web browser rather than my mobile I will be able to post on the forum and pigs may fly. I will give up now or I may have to contact the Samaritans.

Yes, I just tried to post in the forum and I was not able to. The reply box is there, but you can't click in it because of that gray fill. Safari browser on ipad.

Now we know one reason everything paused for a couple of days.

I am banned too from SS forums & no warning watsoever. Didn't even know what I said which offended them (apart from agreeing with everyone else)
I used another browser to view posts but as soon as I tried to login it blocked me with a 'Banned You do not have permission to view this site.' page. Anyone had this? So I just use yet another browser or device to read the forum but unable to post. SS are getting pretty dodgy with the silent treatment of contributors but I've only had reasonable sales on there.. I joined other stock sites months ago even before the cut in payments by SS but only had one sale on adobe & I'm on DT & Alamy as well.
