The new dashboard has been on Shutterstock for a few weeks now. I can't get used to it. I hate it. It annoys me to see huge photos that have nothing to do with my sales and income. The information I need is difficult to access or simply no longer there. I've written several times to Shutterstock but they don't care about my comments. How do you feel about this bad update from Shutterstock which continues to deteriorate ? What can we do together to make this change and bring back the old dashboard ?

It's essentially a big FU to contributors. I haven't seen a single positive reaction to their last dashboard iteration so far. Best case scenario - they don't care, worst case - it's exactly the effect they were looking for. As for the why - many people think it's meant to drive us to the mobile version. I personally think it's a part of a bigger strategy to distance themselves from contributors overall

But why? The mobile version is ever worse than the desktop version. It does not even show you the bare minimum of information anymore, which is your unpaid earnings.
I rather think the new dashboard is there to obscure how little we get paid for individual image and video sales as that information cannot be seen directly on the dashboard anymore. You need to click on tabs and tabs and other tabs to actually see all your daily sales.

Use Ublock Origin and block all the ugly panels on top.

I don't even bother looking at it.  I just book mark the earnings page

How do I see my most recent downloads by image? All I can figure is one at a time using earnings. Is there some way to sort by date and see?

Sadly there is no way to sort them.

It is annoying, but I make so little from SS nowadays that it no longer really matters.  Last month they were number 4 and this month so far are even lower.  Today I had an SOD for 10 cents - pathetic.  Who cares any more?

People who still make decenet money from SS? For most contributors here, according to the monthly poll, SS ist still the second best earner.

One of the first things to take into account in surveys is that the sample they primarily represent is "people who participated in the survey."

True, though in this case this doesn't change the answer? Question was "who cares?". Answer is: People who still make money with SS.  And if you assume that this is just "people who participated in the survey" then even that doesn't change that among these people there are still people who make money with SS and therefore, most likely, still care.

Yes, the new dashboard is bad and ugly, we all agree on that. SS certainly has a reason for that.
Maybe they want to encourage us to give feedback? It worked for me, I gave my feedback for the first time.

But there are also many positive things about SS that are more important than the dasboard design.
The upload is easy. The review times are currently very fast with mostly less than 24h.
The revenues are (for me) many times higher than other agencies.

I believe SS will eventually provide a nice and useful dashboard for contributors again. And until then, there is UBlock.
Also, by default I don't call the dashboard anymore but only the pages 'to submit' and 'reviewed' and 'earnings'.

SS is 1/3rd of what it used to be. That could be how much we have lost or who takes the survey. The numbers become meaningless if the people who make more for past years, stopped taking the survey because they stopped coming to the forum. It's only 50-60 people who take the survey.

And yet, again, that doesn't change anything about the answer to the question "Who cares any more? (Not "how many people care?" or "how many people on this forum care?"). The answer is still the same - The people who still make decent money with SS.

I am sure there are pople to whom Shutterstock is not worth it to bother about anymore, but some people like to pretend that just because it wasn't working out for them anymore since the cut in our royalties, it must be the same for everyone and no one was still making decent money with it and therefore no one cared about SS anymore.
Shutterstock still gets around 40.000.000 (!!) new images each year, so someone must care enough to bother uploading images. I know I would not bother uploading to any agenciy that generated so little earnings, that I couldn't even be bothered to "care" about them.

Thank You Ugliness  ;)

I can't change it and I would like it to be different.
But Shutterstock is also still my best earner.
Some people should accept that, these discussions are getting boring.

I've never taken the survey. However, in general, SS is 60-65% of my earnings while AS is 35-40%. That has been consistent over the past two years and, up to now, is also consistent for 2023.

Probably why the MSG poll is nice to look at, for balance and a general idea of what others are doing. If yours is 60/40 there are probably other who are 40/60. The numbers on the right are averages.

I'd agree:

That isn't in answer to who cares, it's saying that the poll is only a poll and only people who choose to add information are counted. There's nothing to say that people who don't have an SS account, are not entering low numbers to bring down the average or that people who like SS are adding made up numbers to take the average up. And the same for any other agency.

Any poll that people can volunteer information or ignore the poll, means the the potential for error, is greater when the survey is not asking random people, but instead only those who volunteer to answer.

We must first recognize that the poll is at it's base, flawed statistically and then trust that people who answered are honest and don't have some outside motivation for adding inflated or made up numbers.

Assuming I trust all of that, the poll here is just an indication of what the average of 50 people voted when they volunteered their earnings for the last month for each agency. And if there's a question of that number, until the rolling vote count hits 50, the average doesn't show, unless someone hovers over the name of the agency. Also note: the agencies are listed in order of earnings, regardless of how many people took the time to answer.

It seems that I can log in and go from the Home page to see my Earnings (such as they are!) easily, but to go from the Home page to Portfolio eg to see what images have been reviewed etc I have to log in again.
Is this a glitch or a new feature?
