Well, for me anyway and for November 2024 at least. I could see this happening a few months ago as sales became close and closer.
SS - 230 image sales - £225
Adobe - 274 image sales - £196
I notice last few months 2 or 3 decent single sale values from SS around $20 each
Prob wont last but interesting and have noticed drop in sales value from Adobe last 6 months.

Past many years shutterstock has always been down compared to adobe.
SS used to be an amazing company or I can say the best microstock agency for me but their management became greedy and ruined everything.

For me, while Adobe still carries the torch, SS is steadily improving this year.  Almost entirely "single and other" category

Adobe will beat Shutterstock YTD this year, but Shutterstock will always be better at holiday sales for me

For me this year AS has earned exactly double what SS has supplied.  Last year it was about 20% more than SS.
Previous years SS was better.

Its a sign of the long, continuous decline of SS in terms of earnings (NOT download numbers) caused by the levels system and the huge reduction in what they charge customers for the assets.

I still get the odd crazy big 3 figure sales on SS which are never seen on AS but they arent enough to plug the gap any more.

For me now SS is basically a pit of 10-20c Single sales or a few dollars at most per clip video sales.

For video last few weeks are very slow on SS and Adobe keep holding leading position even they are slowest in review.

Can't complain, was a good year at SS.

That makes the level reset even more grating....

I got to video level 4 2 hours before midnight on new years eve last time.  No sales obviously then and reset back to 1.

Oh I wish I earned that but a recent month the amount I got on adobe was more that SS probably for the first time and with less than half the images than shutterstk. the number of DLs though are always more on SS than adobe

I wouldn't do it. You risk unleashing the copycats with AI 

That or half of Pakistan downloading them with someones subscription account, mirroring the image and then reuploading for sale themselves.

Or dozens of new copycat accounts who all share stolen images and then upload to a dozen agencies that don't care enough to check for dupes and stolen images.

Thats the beauty of my portofolio, I sell only travel photos, you can replicate them with AI for sure, but nothing will match the reality.
