Moving up a bit, yesterday I had 25 dl.

Not a bad week but overall the last 3 weeks have generally been better than usual and I consider this may be due to the recent free offers so thank you to those who participated in this (as I don't). I do notice an increase in sales whenever Adobe do the free offer exercise and it's probably why they continue with this as they too see increased sales.

Bauman

My ranking is improving (I'm around 2500), but sales are going down... so that means Adobe Stock is selling less.

And my RPD isn't high either; I used to make a sale >$10 a week, but lately, they've disappeared.

Are clients using a lot of AI on their own? Are there too many free images? Are they losing market share?

It is just summer, especially in Europe. many companies close down for an entire month and employees often take very long vacations. Schools are all closed, life becomes quiet, better to be at the beach.

Projects get delayed or simply shelved until September when everyone is back.

The US has much less vacation time but even there a lot of business projects get scheduled for September.

Travel content, back to school, maybe some autumn can help to fight the summer slump.

For me personally June-August is a yearly death zone.

My ranking has improved even though sales are very slow, so I take this as a general downtime in sales overall.

DaLiu

For me the summer months are the best historically, this is year is the same story, usually 20-30% better than the cold months, I don't usually have bad months overall, I can't complain until now.

cobalt

Summer is very slow and thanks to rejectiongate I uploaded very little, so July 25 is 20% lower than July24.

Last year July was 300% more than July23.

I must find a way to upload at least something, even if it is the lower quality files. Being invisible in the newest search is the fastest way to kill your port.

You didn't have a bad week when considering the week I just had (slowest in 6 weeks at least in terms of earnings) and I'm not in the middle of a summer slowdown.

Are you uploading videos? Because I can honestly say Adobe are now reviewing videos almost as timely as they were prior to the review chaos.

SuperPhoto

Don't think it is a "summer slowdown". Last year - my sales were 200% higher.

This year - even though I have a much larger portfolio (video + image), significantly lower sales which is very concerning.

In addition to shitterstock shitting on Pond5, as well as SS, that is concerning too... and of course the "ai" companies having stolen people's content to push their perpetual revenue model...

I have a large batch of videos to process but unfortunately have little time.
Hope nexr week gets better.

I am discouraged by reading that camera video is now also being declined by the too similar bug.

Still hoping Adobe gets rid of that decline and sticks to quality reviews.

my rank improved this week

I feel like the ship is sinking! Is it just me or am I the only one?

That's right, the same feeling.
No matter what you upload, sales keep falling and falling... It's depressing.

Well you know, AI tools are the future! Just helping tools said people here! Always custumers will go for the cheap, less cost! That IA companies using images on Internet in order to train their App's. Let find for another way of income, this is dying for me!

It might be temporary. Either people get fed up with fake images or they embrace it. It's like bitcoin. Something of no intrinsic value can get worth 120,000 dollars or nothing. It's mindblowing how lazy and stupid humanity has become. Not saying that AI cannot help do people jobs better but c'mon.

After best month ever in July, August looks like very slow month on AS and overall on all agencies.

July was my 3rd best month ever (overall combined agencies) with solid results for Shutterstock, Adobe, iStock and even Pond5 didn't do too bad. Like yourself though, August is a very slow month on all agencies - though Pond5 surprised with a $105 triple sale at beginning of the month.

alexandersr

This seems to be moving faster than I thought. The end is very near. With the "exciting new announcements" from the major microstock agencies. Thanks to artificial intelligence companies, Midjourney, and others. They've finally put the final nail in the coffin of microstock.

Sebastian Radu

Yes, that's pretty much how it was.
We need to actively think about what else we can do with the skills we have. Stock photography (+video) has officially entered a state of clinical death.

Good luck to everyone!

Pacesetter

Not a bad week, better than the previous four weeks in terms of earnings which followed some strong(er) weeks before that.

DaLiu

The slowest friday ever, feels like a weekend day, I'm not sure if is only for me but I feel it both on SS and AS.

One of the slowest weeks in a while and probably will be the slowest month of the year, compared with last year when was one of the best.

Pacesetter

Shutterstock is a disaster for me so far this month.

DaLiu

August 1st to 18th on SS and -27% income compared with last year same period.

2024 → 1,443 downloads

2025 → 1,056 downloads

AS is slower compared to last year as well. I'm curious if others are experiencing the same trend.

I was doing really well on Adobe at the beginning of the year with 60-80% increase YOY.

Then rejectiongate started and I basically stopped uploading. I have now started with tiny test batches, but lack of uploads makes me invisible in the newest search and you see that immediately how my dl dropped since May.

Weekly rank is also very low.

I have started to work on new things with camera, photos and videos. But these are new theme projects. This was year 3 of the ai project and usually the 3rd year of any project is the best for me.

I will perhaps try to also add a fresh baseline of objects on white done with camera.

But I am very frustrated, because that an agency allows images in via a lottery ticket is something I have never seen

I have tried to figure it out and was hopeful, but then I got fresh declines and at the moment nothing is being inspected.

So we will see.

I hope they decide to lower the upload limits and abolish the useless similar decline.

8100 files, 6400 of them ai. That ratio will gradually change. So far 4700 dl for 2025 on Adobe.

eta

If my files get in I am very please with sales. Also very predictable what sells quickly and what needs more time.

mike123

Almost the same rank as you @cobalt.
Without adding much new content - I added 21 new images this year and removed a few (they went to a "better place" :D).

I feel your pain — thanks for sharing how you're doing. Honestly, from my own experience, I've never uploaded regularly on any platform. I usually upload in big batches two or three times a year, and in the past 2–3 years, even less than that. Still, my sales have always been decent. I never felt like inconsistent uploading had a big impact. In fact, last month (July 2025) was my best month on Adobe Stock — and that's not even counting the AI dataset bonus months. But this August has been terrible on both Adobe and Shutterstock. So it must be something else. Maybe everyone's on vacation and sales are dipping because it's summer? That said, summer is usually a strong season for me since most of my content is travel-related.
