Adobe Stock Contributor Relations

Our Contributor community is foundational to Adobe Stock's success, and we are committed to supporting you with transparent communication. Adobe Stock is launching the first phase of its new Adobe Stock Unlimited Plan to select markets worldwide. Licenses under the Adobe Stock Unlimited Plan will be displayed in the Contributor Portal as 'custom.' All Adobe Stock standard assets will be made available as part of this new plan.

We believe this new subscription plan will attract new customers, allowing for a potential increase in total Contributor earnings. We will continue exploring additional avenues of opportunity, exposure, and earnings potential, and appreciate your partnership.

I don't believe iS has an unlimited download option for buyers....that would make them the only remaining large agency in that position?

Stockhome Syndrome

Downloads from this unlimited subscription program shouldn't be labeled as "custom".  They should be labeled as "Unlimited" or something that specifically states a download was licensed under this new program.

Don't hide it from us.

What is the minimum $ will they go for. Will it be variable depending on volume downloaded by the client. What package were the clients on beforehand before being offered the unlimited subs pack. i.e. were they already on a high volume download package that already resulted in a $0.38 price band and this just allows them to download more per month without having to wait till the next month to start downloading again.

Cheers

everest

Crazy. But does not surprise. What does surprise me is that there are some contributors still supplying stock agencies nowadays.

So, less than $0.38 per sale? Thank goodness we'll have "opportunity", "exposure", and "potential" to soften the blow 🤔

For some of us this could be actually good. It was clear years ago that microstock is going to be over soon, but Adobe still managed to hold on and pay us decent money - which is why quality content still got added to the library and buyers were able to find what they were looking for. Now this is over and in the long term only generic and AI content will remain on microstock, which means artists with quality content can demand higher prices and clients will have to pay them if they don't want to be stuck with microstock content. We will see...

worse news of the day. i looking for a new job. Microstock and human content will desapear. I also need anti depress med for that

cobalt

How will Adobe calculate the earnings? Daily, monthly?

The rate paid is the same 33/35%?

When does it start?

Dreamstime limited their plan to unsold files...that made more sense, but I suppose Adobe wants the KISS approach.

Stock is just an add on to selling photoshop.

Any payout examples?

Yes, after 18 years it's time to find a new job... but what? I'm 53 and still have 12 years to go until retirement.

What a sad day, it's the end of creativity, of authors, of beautiful photographs. It makes me want to cry...  :-[

I received the email this morning announcing the unlimited plans and was disappointed - but not surprised - to see there was zero mention of contributor earnings.

Has Adobe still not digested that contributors do this to earn money? And that their supply - except for the AI slop that is now almost half of the collection - will dry up if they keep cutting compensation?

Unlimited plans aren't new, and here's an old post about how the earlier ones calculated our compensation.

Easy for Adobe to insulate themselves from variability - we get a fixed percentage of the earnings pool, calculated daily, based on our images used.

I'm glad that my portfolio is still earning, but if I were to entertain any thoughts about contributing again, this is likely to put an end to that. Will have to watch the patterns of "custom" license amounts to see what shows up.

Tossers!

"Our Contributor community is foundational to Adobe Stock's success."
Adobe was the last frontier for many talented contributors. Going in this direction shows either the SEOs have no touch with the reality and needs of their contributors, or this is just fluff.

So... did iStock just become the best stock agency. What a plot twist.

Meanwhile, Reddit's wondering if this is good news - which is at least funny.

So how much do we get per download? You conveniently left that out.

When it looked like Shutterstock had won the race to the bottom, along comes Adobe with an industrial drilling machine to go even lower.

Same rubbish and no opt out.

Transparent communication would have been telling us (as others asked) when this will start, what to expect in terms of revenue and when this is calculated (per download, per month, per???). We are not in it, as Jo Ann stated, purely for the fun. And as Stockhome Syndrome says, don't hide these sales in the custom bucket. You are a software company, can't be that hard to add a different label to it.

sofijab

I can't believe Adobe is doing this after all these years. An "unlimited" plan just means my work will be given away for next to nothing while Adobe makes more money. Don't tell me this is good for contributors — it's not. It's exploitation, and I'm honestly furious  >:(

Strategically sent the month before Firefly AI training bonus payout (if any).

Yes, the contributor community is foundational to Adobe Stock's success. The other part about "we are committed to supporting you with transparent communication."
is perhaps the funniest thing I have heard all year. The fact is Adobe does not communicate. Has Adobe noticed there are pages and pages on this forum alone questioning the whole inspection process, for month now. Nobody has a clue why suddenly all the roulette rejections.
It has also been noted that Adobe conveniently did not mention how we will be paid for this. Excellent communication, keep the contributor community in the dark.

If you actually can get a job you are very fortunate.

I'm also 53, closed my activity a couple moths ago and can't get a job. In my country hardly anyone over 50 can get a job especially now. Companies only want young kids they can shamelessly exploit because of inexperience and tax exemption for one year for that worker.

Plus, the influx of immigrants gave those companies the sames opportunities of exploitation. Minimum wages or even less despite illegal, no work contracts, and when they get a legal contract and wage they get the tax exemption. All this despite the recognized incompetence of the people being hired.

So, at this moment a national citizen can't hardly get jobs which is insane. Thanks m*** f**** EU and your plans to destroy countries sovereignty.

I don't know what will happen with my life.

Pacesetter

Does this apply to videos?

I stopped supplying Shutterstock with photos some time back but notice I actually haven't been bothered with uploading photos anywhere lately. If the industry gets as bad with videos then probably will stop uploading videos which would be the end of my stock journey. Hoping video content will hold up a little longer yet though it's nothing like it used to be.
