$718.84 by Alamy. At the time I was amazed and even doubted it, but it was indeed a real sale.
The most surprising thing is that this concerns a photo that required quite hard work, but which never sold (or maybe 1 or 2 times) on (m)any other site(s) during almost 20 years. Because yes, the sale was not even with exclusive rights!
And you? please share your experience.

qunamax

Can't recall precisely, but a couple of 250$ on IS and Alamy.

lazaros_video

60 something dollars on istock for an editorial image of a Microsoft building.
58 dollars for a video on Pond5.
Hope for better sales in the future.

Photobomb

On Shutterstock - An editorial image.
This was from September 2024 - There were a lot of people reporting this same exact amount for an image that month.

Highest sale US$ 18,000.00  Getty about 35 years ago. (that was gross - I only got half)
Lowest sale US$ 0.01 Getty yesterday (That was net - I got all of it)

SuperPhoto

I think I might have gotten $100-$200 once or twice from shutterstock before it became shitterstock with $0.25 royalties.

History
In 1995, Mark Getty and chief executive officer Jonathan Klein co-founded Getty Investments LLC in London.[1] Mark Getty is the company's chairman. In September 1997, Getty Communications, as it was called at the time, merged with PhotoDisc, Inc. to form Getty Images. The company relocated to Seattle two years later and expanded in the United States, reaching 2,000 employees by 2006.[1] In April 2003, Getty Images entered into a partnership with Agence France-Presse (AFP) to market each other's images.[6]

I had a similar sale roughly the same amount of years ago from GI. I remember clearly my 60% or 50% commission was $9700. There was a point in time when it was a 60/40 split then it went to 50/50 as the former was not sustainable... and here we are.

Remember when you got a $75 sale and that was like todays $0.01 sale?

"about 35 years ago" What part of "about" are you having difficulty with? It made absolute sense to me because I was there too, "about 35 years ago"

I am not sure of the year because I have thrown away all my old sales reports from my 35 agents - for me it's not important the exact year as the whole of the 90's were totally wild; with massive sales on a weekly basis.

Uncle Pete

Not as rich or famous as most of you here. $100 commission, Alamy, but I did have a number of them, over the years. Here's an example.

Media: Textbook - print only
Industry sector: Media Industry
Sub-Industry: Publishing
Print run: up to 5,000
Placement: Front cover
Image Size: 1 page
Start: 19 June 2009

and another:

Usage: Editorial
Media: Textbook - print only
Industry sector: Media Industry
Sub-Industry: Publishing
Print run: up to 5,000
Placement: Inside
Image Size: 2 page spread
Start: 01 September 2009

and

Usage: Editorial
Media: Textbook - print and e-book
Print run: Unlimited
Placement: Inside
Image Size: 2 page spread
Start: 01 January 2012

Front cover and 2 page spreads, I'd just like to see one of them some day. I wonder if I got photo credit. They don't come up in a search.

Brasilnut

$848 net for a book cover via Arcangel.

Funny that they only used the background as well and not the foreground with the main subject. I'll take it anyway :)

On Alamy I had $137 net once upon a time.

pancaketom

I had a $252 sale on Alamy back when we got 60% - so just over 150 for me. Also a few 300$ sales there when it was 50/50, so $150 for me and one for $384 when I got 40% - so still in the 150 range at $153.60

There might have been a few higher ones I didn't see hiding in there, but that is in the ballpark of the highest, they do make a difference in the monthly totals, but not like SS back when sales were plentiful for both .38 and higher values.

Other than G connect the lowest was Alamy 2 cent distributor sale where they reported 1 cent for the distributor and 1 cent for alamy leaving me with nothing. They might have had some adjustment to that, but it was piddling anyway, on the order of 1 cent.

Several thousand but that is decades away, can't remember the exact amount.

Bobcast78

$120 for a video on Adobe Stock 5 years ago and $110 on Alamy, but they took an 80% commission...

Thanks you all for your participation.
I truly believe this thread is of interest to everyone, and brings together very diverse experiences across time and (monetary) space ;)

Pacesetter

Had a couple of high paying royalties for a single sale back in 2022 and 2023 as per the attached images...

Oh I forgot $300 to LAT and same day, same image went to a newspaper for $100.

Part of the never look at Connect Sales individually, just the totals?  If you look at the lowest sale thread, your 1¢ is massive compared to what some of the connect uses are paying us.  ::)
