People are starting to look specifically for non-AI images, and before long it will become a dominant trend. We'll grow sick of synthetic images.

I hope so, but until then, I'll take what I can get for the training uses. I don't use AI except for personal use, fun and humor.

Here's the real situation of artists and authors vs AI. Protesting, shouting, getting angry, isn't going to change anything.

You could prompt the same with: brAIn written... it would work better  ;)

I opted out as well when it was possible. But not because I don't like free money but because of the acceptance rate. If you opt in the reviewer has three options, accept, reject or dataset. When you're opted out they only have two and then they only reject when there is a good reason for it (normally speaking). Since the opt-out my acceptance ratio (which was high already) got higher.
I would rather sell my photos then get some peanuts for my dataset photos.

That's not how it works, though. The reviewer has 3 options regardless of whether you are opted in or not, but if you are opted out, any approved for data licensing simply don't get used.

Got $63 even though I was opted out.

Yeah, I deleted anything that was approved for data licensing only and I got $60. Pretty round numbers, 90% of my SSTK is Editorial, which I am guessing, isn't included in training or whatever they are doing. I think they want real photos.

Here's Don and Poncho fighting AI one battle at a time, by posting their protests on a special interest forum. Sure if someone doesn't allow use, it's like throwing a rock in the ocean in Australia and expecting that will change the water level in California. There's a point where, recognizing that, for an independent artist, there are more important and controllable battles to be fought, which is a better choice.

Your art isn't worth anything unless someone else believes it is.

I got over 3k

The funny thing is, that's way more than I earned in a year (my monthly is coming in at around $200 after I stopped uploading when they introduced the "levels" thing. It used to be 2k per month.

For you maybe. For me it's either rejected or accepted. Or somehow for me the third option does not exist while I'm opted out for the dataset.
