I've been getting an empty file too, which can't be opened. I contacted Shutterstock and the answer was that my 1099M form had not been generated. They told me to go to my Bigstock account and download the form from there. I was able the get it from there. So, if you are getting an empty file and have a Bigstock account, you may want to check from there.

I never thought to check the BS site to download the form. After all these back and forth emails with SS and having them finally email me my 1099 - I coulda gotten it from BS (which I just did successfully).

Just got this from SS (finally acknowledging the issues and that the don't know their a$$ from hole in the ground).


Are you having trouble accessing your 1099? A small group of contributors who have accounts with multiple Shutterstock brands may have been incorrectly directed to download their tax forms from Shutterstock instead of the correct brand (e.g. Bigstock).
