Hm, well I hope the next guy was not running restaurants before but is an experienced creative media professional.

Why am I thinking this won't increase the chances of getting the LR/PS subscription bonus this year :(

"CEO Shantanu Narayen, 62, is lead independent director of Pfizer in addition to his responsibilities at Adobe"
"at Adobe, he received $51 million in total compensation for the 2025 fiscal year"
"Annualized revenue from AI-first products more than tripled, the company said."

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!! That's the only value he has.

Big Money

Maybe Matt becomes the CEO.

Adobe has been very good towards their contributors, they always paid fair and also offered free subscription to motivate artists.
Many a times they released bonuses and free-collection offerings.

For stock images sector, it all depends on demand and supply. Things have changed and AI have penetrated at core. Non-skilled people are also now a part of this.
It was inevitable for adobe to stop this wind.

Adobe has been... "very good"? They were good, for sure, but:
- Non-skilled people are the one who flood the collection with AI, seems to be they are happy to feel they are skilled Artists.
- They forced contributors to accept money for stealing their products to feed the AI. No one could refuse their peanuts (with an opaque calculation). This way, they protected themselves from any potential future legal action. At many other places, it was possible to opt out.
- You forget that Adobe decided to pay in dollars the contributors of Eurozone, a truly unbearable betrayal. Customers who pay in euros pay royalties in dollars to their fellow citizens who are contributors. And Adobe pockets more money. NO! they did not always paid fair!
- With subscription model, they motivated to own the work done with their products from the artists, who lost this way their independence. Just a business strategy for more money and control.

Btw, they were not the best.
In 20 years of microstock, I made 114% more at Shutterstock than at Adobe Stock, and what I earned at Adobe was 21% of my overall total.
I still produce (by hand of course), I still upload, I still sell, here and there...  ;)

I stop here, it would take too long to summarize everything...

Your words carry contempt since you have no more arguments.
Maybe you are pursuing a career in evangelism? Don't hesitate if you feel the need to talk more about it, in case this can soothe your soul.

Good riddance. I would for once like a CEO that is not just bootlickin' that orange cheeto in the Oval Office.

"Under Narayen, Adobe pushed from software licenses to subscriptions to its Creative Cloud application bundle..."

So good for contributors that he started subscriptions for the use of Creative Cloud software...

No company or CEO is 'good' for us. They're all money grubbers.

I got a bad feeling about this. Same thing happened to shutterstock before it all went to sht!

If the new CEO gets a bonus for showing a profit, larger than the last person, you're right. We're an expense, and that's the easiest place to make cuts. We can only hope that someone on the board sees us as an asset.

Maybe they can do without a CEO since their staff already has content similar to a CEO. They can pass the savings on to us.

From my experience and client side, leadership changes rarely bring immediate impact - strategy is usually set years ahead (especially towards AI and subscriptions). But one pattern I keep seeing, after such shifts, companies push harder on cost optimization, and contributors often feel that pressure. So I wouldn't expect sudden improvements - more like gradual changes in payouts and content priorities. The real question is: will the next CEO push premium quality or double down on mass AI content?

lol. wow east indian AND a deathjab/pfizer promoter... explains a lot. most likely corrupt as ____, and will do anything for money. obviously he got $51 million, doesn't give a crap about other people other than stuffing his own face.

one odd/strange thing I have noticed - under I suppose blackrock/vanguards direction - they've (over the last 10 years) been replacing a lot of caucasian ceo's with east indians... in general (from having both hired & worked with them) - they don't have any moral compass, will scam if they can get away with it (and then deny/lie if they're caught)... and will do anything to "get money"... had a number of projects w/east indians where they kept b'sing, and the end - the projects were such garbage - had to get someone else (non indian) to fix it. and I have heard the same story in a number of corporations. so very interesting/odd that they are now being appointed as 'ceos' - perhaps just to pillage the companies for the WEF "reset" nonsense...
