Hello,

I'm just curious here because that's the only thing that stops me from applying to blackbox. And if anyone here is a contributor there and knows the answer I'd love to hear from them.

I believe blackbox participates in the unlimited plan on SS.

Since we have no idea which asset is downloaded and how many times and for how much, how does blackbox pay its contributor fairly? Unless blackbox has the info from SS, I cannot see how they could do that.

Interesting. I'm curious too. Also, I'm curious why we are the sole product and yet there is no transparency. Interesting.

BB has lump sum subscription sales income. You get 10,40 or 60 dollars once or several times a month, but you don't know from which agency or what has sold. I assume this is from envato or shuttertsock subs sales etc...

I am sure they have a way to track our sales.

I really like bb, but if you feel uncomfortable just upload yourself directly.

I don't know, but if I had to guess, they probably take the total subscription sales income an share it between all contributors, prorated based on how many clips they have with Shutterstock. A better way to do it would be prorated with your percentage of SS sales value sales versus the total SS sales value. That way you're being better compensated for a better performing portfolio. The correct way to do it would obviously be for each contributor to get the exact amount they're owed as if they were submitting themselves (minus BB's cut), but I don't know how that would be possible with all BB content being uploaded to one account. You could always ask in their Facebook group or message them directly. They're not the most open and forthcoming though.

Yes that makes sense! I guess as long as their contributors are happy with their earnings is what counts!
