Once I reached $500, number of downloads went down by 30%. Is this typical?
A w filmie polskim, proszę pana, to jest tak: nuda... Nic się nie dzieje, proszę pana. Nic. Taka, proszę pana... Dialogi niedobre... Bardzo niedobre dialogi są.

I'm new to this but was this a noticeable trend over a longer period of time compared to a month or two? In essence stock photos are just like a market place with demand and supply so at times, your photos may have been in demand until a certain point in time when either supply rises (more alternatives) or demand falls. This could be just a lull for the time being and could easily pick up. If this is over a longer period of time though, I wouldn't have much to say as I have just got on the stock photo trail.

I've found SS quite consistent overall if you keep uploading regularly.  Good luck!

From what I have heard yes, as a newbie you are favoured. After some time not anymore. But you still can make a good amount of downloads if you regulary submit good images.

I always presumed that SS favored new images, because of the (now mostly) subscription model. Buyers can download 25 per day, so they watch the New Images for pictures they like. On other sites, buyers search for images they need, old or new, doesn't matter.

If SS favors new submitters, in what way? By putting them higher in search returns?

I think that it is new images not contributors that get a boost.  I always get a boost when I upload a new batch.

in my very very humble experience, every new batch gets few downloads from old photos as well.
