Hi All,

We have been buried in snow for almost a week what's it like for all of you. Fire going in the fireplace, movies on, sledding outside with the kids, snowball fights, hot chocolate. The only work I have been able to do is talk to all you great folks here. It has been a great break. So Sun, Snow, Forest fires, Earthquakes, we cover a big globe at this group you might be dealing with a Volcano right now. So, Share your weather if you will to help pass the time. I know CDW just left for the Bahamas this morning that dirty Dog and Hoi Ha is off to my mother land for a holiday with friends, what about the rest of you.

Best,
AVAVA

I am sitting on the upper floor of my tiny apartment here in Northern Germany listening to the storm outside. Other than that, it was a typical mild December day, about 40 degrees Fahrenheit, no snow. Since I am traveling home tomorrow, I do not mind that there isn't snow on the ground yet. But some white Christmas would be awesome... .

J,

I'm just north of you and we are sitting in some mighty cold weather for the West Coast. I know all the hearty easterners would be out in their t-shorts but I find it cold. Our wood stove is blazing full time right now. More snow on the way for tomorrow.

Well my first week in my new home in South Wales has been icey, cold, foggy and damp and it seems to be staying that way. Now where did I pack that thermal underwear.

It's sunny but chilly here in northern California. This morning it was down to freezing, but pretty nice right now around 14°C or 57°F. One day past week has been the coldest in the last 37 years. It was unusual to see ice on cars in the morning, reminds me on my days in Canada :)

le_cyclope

Yea, up here in Montreal it was -17C this morning...

We have to get use to it because winter officially kicks in tomorrow!

But I'm off for two weeks so I will enjoy it!

Rain, rain and more rain here in the mountains of Ellijay, GA.  It's about 58F so no chance of snow for a bit.  We just moved here back in April so we're looking forward to getting some snow this winter.  We rarely got snow in Buford, GA.

bpmcwill

North Carolina.  It has been rainy for the past 3 days. Temps in the 60's.

Sharply,

I didn't know you were a Vancouverite. I sit with the Cap Valley with a good view of Grouse. My wife is up doing the Grind tonight. I expect a popsicle home anytime soon.

We moved from Colorado up to Northern Minnesota .. Duluth .. this summer .. surviving my first Northern winter since I was a teenager .. don't know if I am going to make it : )  it was -22ºF (-30ºF) a couple days back when I was walking my kids down the block to get on the bus .. brrr. .. as I am sitting here looking out my window we are in our second 10 inch snow in two weeks .. pretty .. as long as I have no need to get down the road .. thanks for the summer pictures.

take care,

John

Chapel Hill, North Carolina has had rain, rain, and more rain for the last week. It's been warm, but we've only had the sun in brief bursts.

PenelopeB

crap... it was minus 24c this morning after 20cm of snow the night before on top of the 15cm we had already. New storm moving in, another 20cm on the way overnight - crap.

But... "silver lining"... I'm leaving on Xmas day for Elizabeth City, NC on Thurs to catch a sail boat to Savannah, Georgia.  Weather permitting of course!

Yah, I'm in Ontario Canada half way between Toronto and Barrie.

Is the Grouse Grind still open? Wow Zeus, your wife is a real trooper!! Can't wait to get up there for some skiing.

So we are expecting a big snowfall overnight here in Vancouver - 15cm (don't laugh you people from the East) and I get to travel tomorrow morning by car at 5am. Me driving! Wish me luck.  :D

Jonathan - have fun with the kids in the snow!

Lora :)

Hey Zeus,

I used to live in North Van (on the flank of Seymour), but had to relocate to South Vancouver for my son's school (in Ladner). He'll be finishing high school next year, and I can't wait to get back to the North Shore! I have a season's pass at Grouse this year and plan to get up there whenever it's not cloudbound. The Grind is closed for winter - I hope your wife isn't going up there regardless: it isn't safe!

Clivia

Here in Northern England it is cold and crisp. The sky is full of fluffy white clouds, and the sun is shining. It was warm enough to walk round the garden without a coat, but not for too long! Rain is forecast for later, so I have been enjoying it while I can.

Rained really hard last night here in Knoxville, Tennessee. Since it has been in the 50s and 60s for a week or so, the grass is turning light green. Just temporary though until it gets colder. We don't get much snow anymore, around an inch or so for the season. Lovely moderate climate. :)
