Press the scart socket in place properly. Or you have switched between CVBS and RGB outputs, or you are playing SECAM, or NTSC videos on a very old TV set.

I have the same problem with my Marx Bothers and Charlie Chaplin D.V.D's.

It could be if the T.V. set is old and getting on a bit, that it is getting confused and thinks you only have a B&W licence.

Maybe your toner catridge in the TV is getting low, so only outputting in B&W, pop down to Curry's and ask if they have a colour refill for your TV, don't get the cheap ones off Ebay the clog up easy.

Play the D.V.D's on your PC is an option, but that may impact on your forum use :P

Last option pop into your neighbours house and use thier DVD player, I am sure they will be glad of your company and quick wit.

I will try and sort it at the weekend.Hancock with Will Smith was ok but you can't watch a film like Transformers in black and white. The television is nearly new SO....

shank_ali

ok it's sorted.Perhaps the scart lead was not  seated in the housing correctly.Glad it is now working as i have just watched the film 'Transformers' dam fine film with some good special effects. Can i repeat if there are anymore Autobotts out there just pop down and say hello we don't bite...

I had the same problem with a new dvd player a while back, the shop gave me a new scart lead and told me to try it first for free. Worked, it's a common problem apparently with dvd players getting returned and down to the scart being broke or having bent pins.
