About 3500 images would get me there.  I make 25-40 on 123RF each month.  It's all part of the long tail...

What's up with 123 RF these days ? It completely died on me , on a track to make $ 4 this month :(

It has slowed a bit for me too.  Not dead, but November was down from October.

I do...  Oh, you mean per month?  I do in a year!   ;D

It has to do something with my luck.

It was  quite well there for me last month , so I thought why not upload about 1000 images , so I did.

Then it stopped completely. ;D

Already have a BME this month on 123RF (which is not sayin' much) but doing good compared to StockXpert and FT which are dead in the water. They all seem to take turns doing well one month and bad the next (for me) and it would be wonderful if they were all consistent and did well every month ;D

My november was disaster. And december is not different.

Isn't that the truth.  :D I've been doing this for 2 1/2 years now, and I'm still waiting for that one magic month were ALL sites are hot. I've come close a few times, but it's usually exactly like you say. It's an interesting business, and it appears that there is some sort of migration of buyers from one site to the next each month.

January looks much better :) Downloads started to pick up! No matter I had poor november and december, 123RF is still still twice better that FT, StockXpert, and 4 times better than BS for me. They have great support for contributors, I appreciate that very much. Easy upload system is big plus too.

For what it's worth, the last normal month was November: 32$ with 450 online then. December was 11$ and October 13$, but those were not normal months. Taking an average of 20$ per 500 shots, I would extrapolate you can have 100$/month with 2,500-3,000 pics. Of course it depends to the content of your portfolio. My top sellers are nature/landmarks, not models, just like on SS.

123RF is a nice little low maintenance site with stable and slowly growing earnings. I love their Model Release Attach module, no categories and no fuzz no drama FTP upload and submitting.

123RF is really picking up for me. I have downloads every day last several days :)

I have a totally opposite experience. For me FT and StockXpert are the only sites, other than SS and IS that have regular sales. I had 3 sales on 123rf in the last 4-5 months.

Well, unless I'm mistaken... it's your website. So I'd be pretty worried if you didn't know they had a special on at the moment.

Starting a site with a similar name to 123RF and posting in this forum where they probably look seems like a dumb idea to me.

Along with bringing up an old thread FROM 2009!  Seems pretty desperate.

It makes little sense to plagiarize that name, the way you did it.

What strikes me when I see these old threads is the fact that ALMOST NO ONE on them is around here anymore.  They've given up on microstock, realizing it is unsustainable.

One of the guys is the NiltoMil guy who ran a blog that would detail his rise to earning a million dollars in microstock.  Long gone.

No offence to him but he was one of those people who floats about the internet looking for get rich quick schemes. Good luck to him but I suspect he made more from blogging about Micro rather than actually doing it.

Yes and no, some are posting under a new name some don't post anymore here but still do microstock but some probably gave up completely

Why do these boneheads keep ressurecting these ancient threads?

I guess i answered my own question...

I assumed he was one of the people who said he earned $1m in the Poll. Calling yourself 123Shutterstock would not be a good move you would find yourself in court PDQ
